of America celebrated the star-
ting of a new year with a Mex-
ican dinner prepared by the
FHA officers and their spon-
sors, Monday, Sept. 28, in the
homemaking department
Officers for the 1981-82 year
were installed before the din-
ner. They are: Pam Geeo,
president; Mary Muessel. vice
president of programs; Aman-
da Avila, vice president of en-
counter; Karen Bauer and
Cheri Blankenship, vice
presidents of service; Robyn
I-opez and Johnnie Trangmar.
vice presidents of recreation;
Olga Hernandez and Yvette
Garcia, vice presidents of
public relations; Debna Nar-
dini, secretary; Barbara
Salinas and Andy Garcia,
treasurer and vice presidents
of ways and means; Tammy
Cox, historian, and Cheryl

are Faye Huddler, Rosario
Salazar and Aletha Moore
Special guests for the dinner
were Michael Zolkoski. prin-

The bride is the daughter of

Jr. and the groom is the son of
Mr and Mrs Jesus Ochoa, all
of Portland
Wedding music was provided
by organist. Mrs Lanice
Keenan Connie Canales,
soloist sang "The Wedding
Song,” "Yo Te Amo Mucho"
and “You light Up My Life.”
Given in mamage by her
father, the bride wore a gown
featuring a high collar of lace
with a bodice of seed pearls
over matching lace Her long
sleeves featured lace coming to
a point at the wnst The hooped
skirt was of chiffon over lace
with scallops and matching
lace along the edge, with the
train holding a wide ruffle of
chiffon edged with lace Her
cathedral-length veil was of im-
ported French lace and was
held with a pearl-beaded Juliet
cap. She earned a bouquet of
white wax pearls formed into
flowers, and crystal flowers en-
circled with lily of the valley
and lace ribbons
For "something old”, the
bnde wore gold hoop eanngs
that belong to her grand-
mother. Mrs. Gonzalo V.
Trevino of Alice. She carried a
lace handkerchief as
something new.” and a gold
bracelet belonging to her aunt.

traditional blue garter A 1981
penny was worn in her shoe.

maid of honor Bridesmaids

tical floor-length gowns of
apricot colored Qiana featuring
spaghetti straps A sheer floral
elbow-length cape was worn
over the gown and baby's
breath was worn in their hair

Mr and Mrs. F. E. Strempel.

white polyester gown featuring
lace sleeves and a lace bodice.

sion was edged in lace mat-
ching the gown.
