United Nations Flag
Training Meet Set
Friday, Oct. 6, at 1:30 p. m.
is the date set for a training meet-
ing on making United Nations
flags for Carson county. The meet-
ing will be in the home demon-
stration agent’s office in the court
house. It is hoped that a United
Nations Flag will fly on every
flag pole in the county on United
Nations Day, Oct. 24. Each com-
munity and organization may send
a representative to this school.
Materials are on hand for making
the flags, and most of the work
can be done at the meeting.
The purpose of this program is
to encourage a more unified un-
derstanding by local groups and
individuals of the United Nations
as an instrument through which
free people may jointly express
their determination to remain
free, and to help people to know
the United Nations flag. The
United Nations flag program is
being headed by the national
citizen’s committee for United Na-
tions Day.
The flag is blue like a Texas
sky with a white globe in the
center encircled with a wreath.
It may be displayed in schools,
churches, and other public build-
ings, as well as on flag poles.
