_____ _________ . rers,
should meet at Mr. W. H. Bailey’s and
from there go to a grove on Pitt’s creek
in Snap Bean’s pasture and spend the
day in the woods.
At 9 o’clock sharp, a considerable
number of wagons, hacks, and buggies
filled with people and lunch-baskets
collected at Mr. Bailey’s and proceeded
to the grove some three miles off. The
drive was delightful, and made more
so by the good humor and merriment
of the party.
Arriving at the grove we found some
already on the ground. The grove is
on the stream above mentioned, and
but for the underbrush would rival the
groves of elms ’round about your city.
Thocompany began to enjoy them-
selves by seeking the shade, and talk-
ing, walking and fishing. The time
was spent in various ways until noon,
when dinner was spread under the
shade. Before dinner however, the
young folks returned from rambling,
a game of “drop the handkerchief ’’
was started and some fifteen or twenty
enjoyed the game. Some of the old
folks engaged in this game, among
whom was the Hon. W. G. Moore,
superintendent of the Sunday school,
and we were attracted by the activity
and fleetness of the old gentleman in
getting around the circle when some
fir him; one would never think he was
abject to rheumatism—he seldom
ailed, to catch his girl before she got to
tost. We havenot seen him since,
>ut hope the violent exercise has done
. aim go harm.
■ During all this time the ladies were
preparing diuner and making coffee,
and about 1 p. m., it was announced,
and, Oh! the good things that were
‘ bere, the sight of which sharpened out
[ppetite, which had made us look to-
ard die lunch-baskets more than
(Uil leafing we should attract too
fo notice by the fearful inroads we
ill make among the good things,
being a very bashful and modest
?nan, especially among the ladies, we
looked about for the hungriest looking
man we could see and planted ourself
down beside him, thinkin^jyaja^
to get enough dinn&c^Tore that man
fihejtlit to starve. On our
(ft was a well fed looking young man
whom we did not expect to remain
ug, and two of the prettiest young
dies on the ground immediately in
front of us—well for once we did eat as
its wejtever ate before, but wbat sur-
rtMpus was our hungry looking man
finished and left us, as we thought
alone, but the well-fed looking young
man on our left held the field and
cleared the table of everything in reach.
Never, Mr. Leader, judge a man by
his looks, as to how much he will eat.
About one hour after dinner we met
our old neighbor, T. E., with about one
pound of nice roast beef in one hand
and alloaf of bread in the other, and
asking “mammy” if she was going to
have supper when she got home.
We noticed Mr. and Mrs. Greenwood
Mrs. Snap Beau and fami-

jjffto all in the evening until 4 o’clock
when the company dispersed with the
understanding that they meet at the
house of W. H. Henderson at night for
a good time generally.
By 8 o'clock a number of ladies and
Jntlemen had arrived, among whom
were Miss Laura Morgan, Misses Etla
and Phenie Bailey, Miss Ida Horrell,
Miss Sue Zimmerman, Misses Etta and
Lillie Bean and Misses Wilson of this
neighborhood and Miss Maud Morgau
and Miss Minnie Greenwood, of your
.town, and others. Among the gentle-
jmen, we saw Messrs. Lee Morgan,
(Tom Bailey, Dick Bean, Henry Fox,

DR. C. R. KING, President.
D. P. HAGGARD, Mgr. of Agencies
Several bundled men, woman and children
throughout the State of Texas, have used it,
and are loud in their praises of it. They
were afflicted with many diseases, some con-
sidered incurable. Some have oeeu cured
after suffering 25 years, one 30 years.
It is a most wonderful advance m medical
science. The chemicals composing this great
blood remedy, are endorsed by the leading
scientists and chemists in Europe, (where
discovered) as the greatest antiseptic, or
blood poison neutralizers in the whole world.
It is thought to be the only remedy that will
successfully neutralize the poison from the
bite of the mad dog. It is death to microbes
or disease germs, in the human system.
When these are destroyed, disease and pain
take their flight. “Pain is but the prayer of
the nerves for healthy blood.”
While the germ theory of disease is no new
doctrine, it has failed to gain the credence of
medical science, to any great extent, until
of recent years; and now that the theory is
pushing to the iront, the practice is Jagging
far behind. For the benefit of tlie public,
we take the following from Peoples Ency-
clopedia:
THE GERM THEORY OF DISEASE.
“It is a fact that the germ theory of disease
did no t originate, as some suppose, in recent
years, although it has only lately attracted
much attention. More than two hundred
years ago, the theory was brought forward
by Father Kircher to account for the phwnie
and Linnseus and Lannis and otliersLSaiiM
ed it. It is a theory whicn ascrUgi

view more clearly explanatory of many
diseases, than any other hypothesis. Ihe
germ theory is important,because connected
with the propagation of disease. Diseases
arise from the invasion of the system by
microscopic forms, or germs, or microbes,
from the air or water, or food we receive, and

Dear Sir:—This is to certify that I have
derived more benefit from the use of five
quarts of Dr. King’s Royal Germatver, than
from any medicine I ever used, having
gaired twenty' pounds in less than a month,
while using it, with an almost complete
restoration to health. 1 thinn one more
gallon will restore ine to perfect health. 1

I hereby certify that my wife has suffered
for years with Neuralgia, and that for t he
last two or three years, she has scarcely
known what it was to be entirely free from
Neuralgia pains, till she commenced the use
of Dr. King’s Royal Germetuer.
She commenced using it about the 24th, of
December. After using it a few days, all
symptoms of the dreaded disease disappeared
and slie has not had any indication of its re-
turn. Her genet al health has been much
improved.
I very cheerfully recommend Germetuer
to those afflicted with Neuralgia.

This is to certify that I have been Paraly-

make a step, and my hands have been badly
drawn. I have tried a great many things
nut without receiving any material benefit,
until about three or four weeks ago, I com-
menced using Dr. King’s Royal Germetuer.
Now I find my hands are straightening, and
I am decidedly better every way. I con-
fidently believe that by continuing to use
Germetuer, (which I expect to do) I will be
entirely cured. I think Germetuer
greatest medicine I ever saw.
