which evervone predicted a failure But from
that day other bouses have been constant y
building until we now find at 1 a t I5O0 and the
enterprie in place 01 b ing a failure has
proved such a marked success as to nearly cause
a doubt in the minds of its promoters as to its

others followed The few bettlers soon so im-
pressed < h r friends with the merits of Oak
Cliff that today ue find the merchants the
professional men the man with means in fact
nearly overy one trying to see who cin be tho
first to finish a residence and leave behind litem
the dust the noise and theother inconveniences
of the parent city Dallas aud take up their
permanent abode in the new and wonderful Oak
Cliff Seven thousand son s now live in Oak
Cliff and for their convenience waterworks
have been built streets have been graded and
macadamized shade trees have been planted
an opera house has been erected
1 public park and artificial lake
has been provided all these and much more
without one cent of expense to the people
Churches and good schools are in opera un

I stantly comlog the best system of suburban

with the ntmoit care Land values are constantly
on the advance and those who bought early
I have realized raauy hundreds of per cent on
their investment The same chances for in-
vestments are now to be had as was the case at
the start as the continuous building of houses
has but the one tendency to Increase values
But there is no speculation in the matter as
nearly every lot sold i 1 at once improved and
