The Rev. Dan Jones, pastor of
the local Baptist church, address-
ed a Joint meeting of the Baptist
Woman’s Missionary Society Thurs-
day afternoon at the home of Mrs.
Henry Minten. Mrs. J. C. Thomas
was co-hostess with Mrs. Minten.
Rev. Mr. Jones’ lecture was on
the book of Revelation and brought
to a close a course of readfng un-
dertaken three years ago by the
society in which the Bible was read
through in that period.
"A Missionary Tour of the Bible”
is the title of the course of study
which will be used next by the
group.
Pink stock predominated in the
attractive arrangement of spring
flowers throughout the home.
During the social hour tempting
refreshments were served to twen-
ty-five members.

The annual meeting of the Pres- :
byterian Woman's Auxiliary was j
held Thursday afternoon at the
home of Mrs. J. R. Scott.
Mrs. A. A. Cosby led the devo-
tional for the afternoon.
Final business of the year was
disposed of during the business
session which was presided over by
the president, Mrs. W. B Gardner.
The financial budget for the new
year was adopted l»y the group.
Mis. 'Paul D. Hanna, after mak-
ing an appropriate charge to the
newly elected officers, inducted
them into office. The new officers
are vice president. Mrs. P A. Hun-
ter; treasurer, Mrs. G. M. Lasater;
secretary of social activities. Miss
Corrinne Brooks; secretary of as-
sembly’s home missions. Mrs. E. C.
Wright; secretary of Christian so-
cial service, Mrs. C. C. Teas; sec-
retary of foreign missions, Mrs.
Ear; Gaston: secietary of religious
education and pubication. Mrs. R.
F. Todd. Other officers’ terms hold
over for another year.
As is the custom of the local aux-
iliary, its circle membership is in-
