Mrs. Louisa M. Pearson, assist-
ant District Attorney of Corpus
Christ!, was guest speaker at the
meeting of the Department of Lit-
erature of the Woman's Club, Mon-
day afternoon at the club room of
tlie Library. Mrs. Pearson, introduc-
ed by Mrs. Leo Kaufer, program
chairman of the department, gave
a most interesting and instructive
discourse on the laws of Texas as
concerned woman. She won her au-
dience completely by her charming
personality and comprehensive talk
on the laws on property, personal,
inheritance anil community; mar-
riage and divorce laws and laws on
naturalization and citizenship.
Preceding Mrs. Pearson’s address,
a brief business session was held,
presided over by Mr. C. K. Fraser,
chairman. Mrs. J. V. Chandler pre-
sented the musical numbers. Miss
Lenora Hays read Tennyson’s fam-
