was served by Miss Marilyn Coff-
man of Austin, Mrs. J. A. Mer-
ritt registered guests.
Fop her wedding trip, the bride
wore a two piece silk and cotton
tweed in arcade blue with match-
ing accessories and an orchid
corsage.

Miss Peggy Browning became
I the bride of Henry Jack Leonard
.of Austin, in a double-ring candle-
light ceremony Sunday, August
28. at 6 p. m. in the Lohn Baptist
Church. The Rev. Hoyt McPherson
officiated. Parents of the couple
are Mrs. Opal Browning of Lohn
and Mr. and Mrs. George W.
Leonard of Wichita Falls.
The vows were exchangeg in
1 front of an altar decorated w’ith
\ white gladioli in center and banked
< with palms and flanked by candela-
bra. Nuptial music was presented
by Miss Sue Barton, pianist. Mrs.
Melvin Hees of Melvin, soloist,
sang “Because,” “I Love You
Truly" and “Whither Thou Goest,”
accompanied by Miss Barton.
When the bride was given in
marriage by 4ier brother, Burnard
Browning of Lohn, she was wear-
ing an off white embroidered ny-
lon gown, designed and made by
her mother. It was fashioned with
a pointed waistline with a drop
shoulder and draped neckline,
waltz-length bouffant skirt with a
hemline of embroidered scallops.
She wore matching mitts, her fin-
ger tip veil of illusion was double
tiered and attached to a tiara of
pearls and rhinestones and was
made by Mrs. Hees. The bride wore
old pearl earrings, a blue garter,
borrowed a pearl necklace and
carried a bouquet of white asters.
Mrs, James Doherty <>f Austin
attended as matron of honor. She
wore a pink flocked nylon sheer
fashioned identical to the bride,
with a headdress of velvet to
match and carried a bouquet of
white asters.
Bill Leonard, of Wichita Falls,
brother of the groom, served as
best man. Groomsmen and ushers
wore George W. Leonard, Jr., of
Sweetwater and Ross Werlla of
Austin.
Oandlelighters wore Tommy
Leonard and Ida Sue Leonard,
nephew and niece of the groom.
Mrs. Browing was attired in a
rose cotton dress trimmed in
brown and wore brown accessor-
ies with a white carnation cor-
sage. Mrs. Leonard chose a navy
silk shantung dress with pink hat,
gloves and navy bag and shoes.
She wore a white carnation cor-
sage.
The reception was hold at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Smith
of Lohn, grandparents of the
bride. The bride's table was cover-
ed with n white linen outwork
cloth over pink and centered with
an arrangement of the bouquets
of the bride and matron of lui or.
The tiered cake, baked by the
bride's aunt, Mrs. W. A. Carroll
was decorated with pink hand
made roses made by Mrs. E. L.
Ross.
Miss Marie Frost presided at the
cake service. Miss Celeta Caylor
poured punch. Miss Lavede Moore
presided at the bride's book.
When the couple left on a wed-
ding trip to New Mexico, the bride
was wearing a copper color cotton
tunic suit with accessories of
brown.
The couple will reside in Austin
where the groom is a senior at
the University of Texas. The bride
is a graduate of Lohn High School,
and Durham’s Business College of
Austin.
The bridegroom is a graduate
of Navasota High School and is
attending the University of Texas.
Out-of-town guests were Mr. and
Mrs. W. B. Carroll, Jr., of Beau-
mont, Mrs. Martha E. McITeese,
Round Rock; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene
