The weather has
played havoc but Ker-
ens is hoping to tra-
vel to Royse City on
Thursday and Edgewood
on Friday for distri-
ct games.
Currently, Coach
Bell’s Bobcats are 3-
1 in district 17-AA
behind Crandall. With
victories over Royse
City 15-3, Alba-
Golden 4”3 and Eusta-
ce 9-8; the guys lost
only to Crandall 2-4
on errors.
Pitching is coming
from Senior Dayid We-
st and Sophomore Jim-
my Keele,
West, an all-distri-
ct performer at cat-
cher last year, also
handles that chore
some.
Clay Bain, a Junior
catcher, has a solid
bat and some homeruns
and RBI’s to prove
it.
Vincent Faulk handl-
es second base and
Danny Kilcrease, a
Sophomore, is on fir-
st and has his share
of homeruns and sol-
id hits.
Carl Ward, Keele and
West have all been
tough hitters.
Younger guys like
Ricky Layfield, Rus-
sell Anderson and
James Warren, along
with second-year
Brad Tarkington are
also doing their
share.
Jeff Robinson and
Lewis Bluitt, roam
the field with confi-
dence and Robinson
has proved a consis-
tent hitter.
Rounding out the te-
am is Lonnie Stewart.
. This may be the
youngest and least-
experienced team in
several years but
they've shown hard
work, enthusiasm and
hung in for a "come
from behind" win
last week.
A couple of wins
this week would keep
them in good shape
for the home stretch.

The volleyball tour-
nament, sponsored by
the Kerens Riding
Club, was a huge
success.
In the women's di-
vision, one of the
Riding Club teams,
the Mustangs, won th-
ird. A team called
the Blue Foxes won
second and another
Riding Club team,
the Jenneys, won fir-
st place.
In the men's divis-
ion, Stephen's St-
inkers won third. A
team consisting of
some of the local
ex-athletes from
Kerens High School
won second place. The
Misfits won first
place.
Everyone enjoyed
watching and play-
ing.
Sometime during the
summer the Riding
Club hopes to plan
another tournament.
So, get your ten-
nis shoes ready
and plan to come
and play.

greatest. But like all plans they must
have solid foundations on which to

This is the day the
Lord has made, we
are rejoicing and
being glad of it.
We're rejoicing
because of the move
of God in the last
and evil days.
We praise God, that
all is well in the
kingdom and we're
more than blessed
of God, to be a pa-
rt of the family of
God.
Our regular servi-
ces goes on weekly
and you are invited
to worship with us.
We were blessed to
have Dr. John Alex-

the 11:00 service.
We also are going
strong in Bedias on
Tuesdays, Thursdays
and Sundays. Praise
God, for his spirit
and anointing in
every service.
We are expecting
greater things in
the coming davs.

Re-Elect
E.L. Parrish
County Treasurer
I am now your County Treasurer and have
been for the past seven years. I have ex-
perience in business and finance. My re-
cord stands unblemished through setting
up an active working office and all au-
dits.
For twelve years I was treasurer in name
only. In 1974 the Commissioner's Court
ruled to make the office what it was set
up to be according to the Texas constit-
ution,
I am and have been an active businessman
in spite of my handicap of 31 years.
If re-elected, the office will be run
in the same efficient and honest manner
that yoters have the right to expect.

Experience Matters
Most In the Tough Jobs
John Robert Gladney’s Experience Will Benefit You:
•When he protects your pocketbook by negotiating with the
Tarrant County Water Control District (which is building
the new lake) and insisting it pay fair compensation for
county roads closed by the new lake.
•When he requires that your ambulance service promptly
meets life threatening situations, in a manner that every
part of our county has adequate, reasonably priced, am-
bulance protection.
•When he submits a budget with only essential services,
that respects your pocketbook realities.
Navarro County deserves a County Judge with
the experience to handle the tough jobs.
