To Develop Oil Near Beckyllle.
The people of Beckville have
organized a joint stock company
for the development of t he oil,
gas and coal possibilities of that
Section. Rons Stewart of our
city and T. H. r Crist of Dallas
are selling lots for same in Car-
thage. The stye of the corpo-
ration is the "Panola County Oil.
Gas and Coal Company” of B< ck
ville. That there is oil. gas and
coal beneath the sod not only of
Beck ville. but the major portion
of Panola county is almost a cer-
tainty, and Mr. Stewart tells us
that if the rapid disposition of
the Beckville lots in and near
Carthage is any indication, we
will soon know in what quanti-
ties it is to te fbund in the B«-ek-
ville field. He also informs us
that a $1000 bond has been made
for the early sinking of a well.
