Greater Topsail area gears up for spring
By Connie Pletl
Now that winter has finally loosed its
grip on eastern North Carolina folks are
getting ready for spring.
Springtime is when things really begin
to heat up in the greater Topsail area. The
weather is warm, the sun is shining, and
the island and surrounding communities
are gearing up in preparation for visitors.
Spring is also a great time for locals who
are able to get out and enjoy the area before
the heat and crowds of summer arrive.
SOUNDS MAGAZINE is published

.ad Pubishin~g LCNow is the time of year that shops,
restaurants and fishing piers that had been
closed for the winter open their doors and
welcome back customers. Both residents
and visitors alike should take the opportu-
nity to visit area shops and restaurants,
walking or driving around visiting old
favorites or exploring new ones. When you
are out and about you will be surprised to
see the all the new construction that has
taken place over the winter months.
There are so many things to see and do
here in the greater Topsail area. The beach
with its golden sands and rolling waves
draws people to the area but the attrac-
tions keep them coming back for more.sfa

beach and miles of waters teeming with
fish give people a chance to get outdoors
and really enjoy themselves while shops,
restaurants, arcades and a museum are
available when they want to come inside

One of the great ways to get out and
soak up the sun is to attend SunFest. Now
in its second year, SunFest is a fun-filled
festival that will take place in Surf City at
the Soundside Park May 20-23. SunFest
replaces Spring Fling, which used to take
place earlier in the season. SunFest offers
food, music and fun, as well as a chance
for venders to display their wares.
