Comanche Visitors
Mr. and Mrs. Billy Wilson
md Mary Sue of Fort Worth
spent the week-end in Coman-
che with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Wes Wilson.
Interest stays high in the
Comanche Chief sponsored foot-
ball contest with a bumper
crop of entries this week from
De Leon, Comanche, Brown-
wood, Dublin, Abilene, Graham,
Temple, El Paso, Valley Mills,
Eastland, and Enid, Okla
'Hie winner this week is Dr.
Terrell Sharp of De Leon, who
is a regular entry in the con-
test. Dr. Sharp missed only one
game this week—the winner of
the Texas-SMU upset! He out-
guessed the second place win-
ner—Mrs. Don Kirkland of Rt.
2, Comanche, in the score of
the Comanche- Dublin game.
Our check for IS is in the mail
for Dr. Sharp.
Mrs. Kirkland, whose hus-
band also won a subscription
earlier this month, missed one
game by incorrectly picking
Sam Houston to beat Stephen
F. Austin. She had the distinc-
tion to be one of only two who
correctly guessed that SMU
would beat Texas.
Third place goes to Alice
Stokes of 1006 San B ini to Dr.
in Brown wood, who also missed
the outcome of the Texas-SMU
game, along with the TCU-Bay-
lor game. She came in third
over five other entries missing
two games by coining closest
on the Comanche-Dublin score.
Honorable mention for miss-
ing only two games goes to
Wayne Hill, Comanche, who ia
still recuperating from surgery
in the Veteran’s Hospital in
Temple; Brantley C. Smith,
Vicki Pipes, Mary Ruth Rom,
and Ruby Hall.
Football season is nearing an
end, and your chances for win-
ning $5 cash or a year’s sub-
scription to the Chief are about
over. So turn to the football
page, clip the coupon, and win
the pot this week!
