Little Miss Margaret Ann Downing,

gathered to piny games and honor
'her on the dad day. Chicken salad
sandwiches, hot chocolate and birth-
day cake were served to the hungry
little guests after two hoars of sup-
ervised play. Margret Ann’s grand-
mother, Mrs. Alice Ford of Orangt

Bute Baptist Association at Dallas

sponsored by Helene Curtis Industries
of Chicago and New York.

The Carthage Circulating book clnb
met Saturday at S:M P. M. nt the
home of Mrs. Roy C. Biggerstaff. The
home was beautifully decorated with
arrangements of red roses and
chrysanthemum#.
Roll call wammnswered by giving

personalities. During the absence of
Mrs. P. B. Koonce, President, the
business meeting was conducted by
Mrs. B. F. Payne, vice-presirent. Mrs.
H. T. Long program chairman for
the day spoke on Great Britain* plan
for the future.
All members were urged to invite
tbe public to the book review to be
given Nov. 17 by Mrs. Joyce Morrow
Gilmer. She will be presented in
lecture on France and French novels.

day by SUto AAA Administrator, B.
P. Vance.
Suggestions drawn up by tho War
Food Administration on the basis of
prospective requirements for food nnl
fiber from 1945 production will be
presented to tbe meeting as n guide
in fixing next year's goals, Vance
said.
The State meeting hss been called
nt the request of Food Administrator
Marvin Jones who has asked each
State to determine its goals in rela-
tion to national needs. The sum of
the State goals will become the na-
tional goal.
WFA representatives will be pres-
ent at the meeting to explain the
outlook for 1945 requirements and
also for such production factors as
labor, fertilizer, and machinery- Gov-
ernment price support announcements
covering each commodity also will be
given.
Vance pointed out that AAA com-
mitteemen again have been given a
major responsibility to work with
