THING TO THINK ABOUT.
If you will ride or walk over
on the lull east of town and from
the main highway, take a look
at that dumping ground, and are
not of the opinion that some-
thing ought to be done, then the
joke is on us. That dumping
ground, within a few feet of the
main highway, is a disgrace to
the citizenship of the communi-
ty, and something ought to be
done, and that without delay.
Junction has too good a name
with the outside world to allow
this condition to go unnoticed.
Within the next few weeks
hundreds, yes, thousands of peo-
ple will be pissing over Kimble
County road, and more than
three-fourths ef them will pass
through Junction. Just think
what impression a sight like this
dumping ground would make on
you if you saw it in another
town. Of course, plenty of oth-
er towns have them, and some
right on their main roads, too,
but Junction shouldn’t have it.
Let's secure a new location
and get rid of one.

Junction ought to have an ice
factory. Hundreds of dollars
go out of town every month dur-
ing ;he summer and fall for ice.
The tourist season brings on an
extraordinary demand. This

along with an order for a defin-
ite time, we would run it. We
had no reply. We note the
American Press Association in-
terviewed on® and found that
they had a small office space in
New York City, and all refer-
ences as to fheir resources or
responsibility were refused. On
its face, the advertising , cam-
paign of these concerns, seem
rather to border on the space
grafter style, and we are just
wondering if our exchanges are
collecting for these ads. that
run ‘tf\ ’Fes up, boys, we want
to know whether we used good
judgment in turning them down
or lost a lot of much needed cash
in the deal. This paper makes
an effort to accept only adver-
tisements that are in every way
reliable and we always question
business coming from concerns
using such tactics as those men-
tioned. Let us hear from some
one who has been running these
advertisements.

If your subscription has ex-
pired, you will receive a card
within the next few davs, show-
ing the date of expiration and
requesting remittance for an-
other year. The manner in
which our subscribers have al-
ways paid up when requested,
seems to indicate that we are
right in keeping the Eagle sub-
scription list on a cash-in-ad-
vance basis. We do not want to
i lose any one as a reader of this
paper, but must have cash in ad-
vanee. &
In some cases where a sub-
scriber is short on funds, we are
glad to accommodate them by
waiting a reasonable time for
payment, hut we must have an
understanding about the matter.
The courts have held that sub-
scriptions can be collected for
the same as other obligations,
but it is not the policy of this
paper to attempt to com pell pay-
ment for any past due subscrip-
tions. »

NINE-TENTHS of the things you do are really the re-
sult of your “habits.” The degree of success you
make in life will be largely determined by the kind
of habits you cultivate or permit to grow upon you.
IT PAYS, Therefore, to acquire as many good habits
as possible, and once a thing is fixed as a habit, it
becomes a sort of instinct or “Second Nature.”
