Editor Ricks of the Leaky
Leader, and Mr. Larramore of
the Mason County News, were
visitors here during the cele-
bration and paid us a fraternal
call. We were glad to have
these gentlemen with us, and
incidentally, we got invitations
to visit the picnic that is to be
held at Mason the 20th, and the
Sheep and Goat meeting at
Leaky on the 13, 14 and 15th.
It is always pleasant to “swap”
experiences with other country
newspaper men, and especially
is this so when the visitor comes
from one of our surrounding
towns.
The Railroad Labor Unions
struck and the world goes on.
The railroads are replacing un-
ion men with non-union and the
former employees are losing
their seniority, so it is not going
to l»e altogether a pathway of
roses for the Unions. The at-
temp has almost failed and it
will fail completely if the roads
continue to stand up for their
rights. The rail workers are
among the highest paid work-
men in the world. They are
drawing salaries practically the
same as in wartime. They must
do a* :»ther workers have done,
and must take a lower wage,
proportionate to the earning
capacity of the individual and o!
the railroad for which they
work.
