Pecan Crop to be Small
Is Prediction of Many.
Mr. Wallace, with the State
Department of Agriculture was
recently here to get first hand
report on the local pecan out-
look for the Department. He
says that throughout the State
the crop is expected to be small,
in some places the estimate is
as low as 5 per cent of a normal
crop.
This county has a very scat-
tered crop, as indicated by re-
ports from people having pecan
groves along the rivers. Some
have practically the same crop
as of last year, a very few re-
port; a better crop than last
year, but a good many state
that their crop will be very
light.
Prospects are fair for a reas-
onable price, if the present in-
dustrial trouble is settled so
shipments can be made, other-
wise there will probably be a
very small demand.
