Board of Trustees of the Inde-
pendent School last week Supt.
M. 0. Britt, presept superinten-
dent of tlie school was re-elect-
ed for the coming term. Mr.
Britt not only being re-elected,
was given a larger salary. The
election of the other teachers
will probably be held May 1st,
at the next regular Board meet-
ing. but it is also probable that

Albert Wins Gillispie Meet.
Fredericksburg, Texas, April
8.—Albert, winner of the 1921
Gillispie County meet, retained
its laurels today by winning the
1922 competition with but lit-
tle difficulty. Albert gets a
silver loving cup donated by the
Commerce . More than 200
children took part in the meet
with about 1,000 spectators.

lovely ranch home of Mr. and
Mrs. A. L. Mudge was a scene
of a happy occassion, when
Mrs. Mudge served a lovely
birthday dinner in honor of Mr.
J N. Bodges and Mr. Mudge.
During the afternoon some
interesting games of 500 were
enjoyed.
The invited guests were Mr.

TWO WOUNDED IN
BATTLE ON RANCH
San Angelo. April 18.—Emp-
ty gun at each other at close
range on a Schleicher County
ranch Monday without fatal ef-
fect, David Sheen, stockman,
and C. L. Hopkin, employe on
Mrs. David Sheen’s ranch, this
morning were admitted to$750.
bail each at El Dora awaiting
grand jury action. Sheen was
using a rifle and sustaned a
wound in shoulder and the side
of the head. Hopkin was us-
ing a pistol and was wounded
in the left arm. Neither seri-
ously.
According to Sheriff A F.
I.eudocke, several shots were ex-
changed.
