Grand Rapids, 1945. 85 pages.
Earth’s “fairest flower” is the
Christian saint. Saints are in dis-
repute today, but the vindication of
Christian sainthood is in the per-
son of its ideal, Jesus Christ. Here
are brief devotional messages which
ring true to the heart of man’s re-
ligious needs and aspirations as
( those are revealed in the New Tes-
tament.—W.B.H.

who have been blessed by his min-
istry will read it with joy and pro-
fit. The author, a trained observer
and writer, has caught the spirit of
the great preacher.—L.R.E.

CAMPAIGN CHARM—One of Beauford Jester’s most enthusiastic—
and prettiest—boosters is his own daughter, Barbara, blonde, stately,
talented—whose staunchest belief is that her dad is the best in the
world. Adding a note of glamour—the Texas kind, not the Hollywood
sort—in Jester’s campaign at present as she travels with him, I.i'ss
Jester is 21 years old and will cast her first vote this year. An
accomplished harpist and pianist, she is a music major at the Univer-
sity of Texas. Marriage and home life is Barbara’s chosen career. She
is a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority at the University. She never turns
down a chance at fried chicken, hot biscuits, black-eyed peas and corn-
bread. She’s been active in charitable work for four years, taking
part in the housing-for-veterans campaign in Austin, the March of
Dimes campaign and in USO programs throughout the war.
