almost every parcel at one time
on its trip goes through these of-
fices. The use of ZIP Codes can
save 24 hours or more in the de-
liverey of most parcel post.
'ZIP Codes on paroels means a
far lesa chance of damage be-
cause of more direct routing and
fewer handlings, but the success
of the program hinges on public
use of the ZBB Code numbers In
addressing packages." he said.
Postmaster Carpenter suggest-
ed that even If people do not know
the ZIP Code of the address to
which their mail is going, they
should use the code on their re-
turn addresses. When cards and
packages arrive, the five digit
return address codes should be
added to mailing lists for use In
the future.
ZIP Code dm&il from a smaller
post office will generally be sent
to the nearest main post office
or “sectional center." From there.
It is sent directly to the sectional
center nearest the final destina-

Choosing a Cat
In choosing a cat, you mutt
decide first if youprefer a kitten
or a grown cat. Kittens are love-
able and playful. They are easy
to house-break, and keep them-
selves neat and dean. A grown
cat is dignified and quiet, and
most likely already housebroken.
In selecting a cat, you may
choose from one of several
breeds. Domestic short hairs
come in every color, including the
striped, tabby. Their color and
markings remain unchanged
throughout life. The Persian cat
is a long hair purebred which is
regal in appearance, and affec-
tionate in disposition. It has
long, silky hair with a luxurious
ruff around the neck and chest
and between the forelegs.
In recent years, Persians hava
been crossed with Siamese -to
produce the Ilimalayan-a long
hair with the coloring of a
Siamese and personality of the
Persian.
