son are home after visiting with

mire of Seymoure.
Mr. and Mrs. Bam Roberson and
daughter of Wichita Falls spent
X-mas with her parents Mr. and
Mrs. F. T. Webb.
Miss Med Kirkpatrick who tea-
ches school at Doss, Texas spent
Christmas with her aunt ano un-
cle Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Ross.
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Bost and
children visited his father Mr. F.
T. Bost during X-mas.
Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Hall of
Wichita Falls spent X-mas with
her parents Mr. and Mrs. F. J.
Hair.
Mr. and Mrs. Wyley Brown of
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Huddleston
of Vernon spent the Christmas
holidays with her parents Mr. and
Mrs. Dave Sircey.
Mayor W. O. Beall and family
spent Christmas in Austin at the

Plant has returned to this plant
we are very glad to have him
back.
D. M. C. CLUB
The ladies of the b. M. C. Club
entertained their husbands with
a Christmas dinner at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Posey
Thursday evening. Many games
and contests were played and pri-
zes of large sticks of striped pep-
erment candy were awarded. The
last delight of the evening was
Santa Claus and the Christmas
tree. Gifts were presented to all
present. Messrs and Mesdames
Claude Page, W. V. White, Dan
Long, H. C. Wells, E. T. Wolfe,
Ralph Shipp, P. C. Cffin, W. J.
Garner, Floyd Dubose, James
Dokey, B. C. Davenport, Willis
Thompson and W. M. Brown of
Barger.
The Boy’s Scout had an open
house meeting here Tuesday ev-
ening. There were many present
and were well payed for their
time. The Scouts sold various
articles which they had made
themselves. The money goes for
supplies. The Scout visited the
widows of the town Christmas day
and presented them with fruit'
and nuts.
NEW DEPOT AGENT
Mr. C. W. Wright, formerly de-
pot agent at Byers is being trans-
feree! to Petrolia. We welcome
Mr. and Mrs. Wright who will
move here in about ten days.

The farmers are taking advan-
tage of this good weather to fin-
ish grathering their cotton. H
The health of the community
is good. We hear no complaints*

GIBSON-McDONALD
Mr. L. C. Gibson and
Derestine McDonald were t ar-
ried in Henrietta on December
23rd. Mrs. Gibson is the first
grad? teacher in our public
school. Mr. Gibson is a driller
employed by the Lone Star Gas
Co. Both the bride and grocn^
have lived in Petrolia for a'niini-
ber of years and have man/ fri-
ends.
STEIN-ASHLEY
Joe Stein and Miss Alvora Ash-
ley were united in marrage on
January 1. Mr. and Mrs. Stein
have a host of friends in Petrolia
and we hope they will make th?ir
home here.
IMPROVEMENTS
We arc glad to report that Pet-
rolia has had a real clean-up-
week. Also they are continueing
to improve their streets. Crush-
ed rock has been put on four
more blocks of street and one
mile of the road toward Wichita
Falls. Wc say “GOOD” keep it
going {
WATCH PARTY
The Jea So Club had their an-
nual watch party New Years eve
night at the home of Dr. and Mrs.
C. K. Arnold. The club ladies
entertained their husbands with
various games, contests and later
a tree from which every one pres-
ent received a gift. A delightful
feast was servedto Messers and
Mesdames W. O. Beall, J. W.
Crockett, B. C. Davenport, Roy
Fultz, L. M. Harbin, J. W. John-
son, H. W. Perkins, F. D. Posey,

BENVENUE CHURCH NEWS
The watch service at the school
house Friday night was well at- ’
tended and much enjoyed. There
was one woman healed, Mrs. Har-
per of Byers, of throat trouble
which had been bothering her for
several years. All services Sun-
day were good. The house was
crowded Sunday night at prayer
meeting. Two request for prayer
T. T. Wallace will conduct the
prayer service next Sunday night.
A cordial invitation is extended
to all.

Henry Force of Wichita Falls
was here visiting his parents Mr.
and Mrs. T. S. Force last week.
Mrs. L. J. Gibbs and five chil-
dren who are moving to their farm
in Loco, Oklahoma were here dur-
ing the holidays visiting her sla-
ter Mrs. Earnest Dyer.

County Medical association held
in Henrietta on Wednesday, the
following officers were elected to
serve during the year 1927:

Dr. J. H. Ferriss of Henrietta,
secretary.
Dr. Vaughter was elected dele-
gate to the state medical meeting
at El Paso with Dr. Allison and
T. K. Jones as alternates.
Mias Delia Howel spent last
v.eck end with Miss Gladys Dum-
foid.
Misses Willie Fae Zachry and
Zenobia Jones saw the first three
basket ball league games in Wi-
chita Falls Tuesday night.
Mrs. Willis Thompson of Fred-
erick, Oklahoma is here visiting
her parents Mr. and Mrs. W. E.
Ikard.
Messers Carl and Edwin Ikard
of Vernon spent the holidays with

TO PETROLIA
Our very obligating and effi-
cient depot agent, Clyde W. Wri-
ght has been transfered from
Byers to Petrolia. The death of
C. C. Benson a very highly es-
teemed citizen caused a vacancy in
Petrolia. Mr. and Mrs. Wright
will move from Byers to Petrolia
in about ten days. We deeply
regret loosing them but our loss
is Petrolia’s gain. We have not
been advised as to who will suc-
ceed Mr. Wright.
NEW YEAR’S DINNER
