harshly of this fellow for he is
true to the heritage of the real
sportsman and not merely a hunt-
er. There’s a whale of a differ-
ence between a sportsman and a

In the fishing news Eunice
Proctor and his grand son had the
biggest bass reported over the
weekend They caught five and
the largest-was a 5 pound, 7 ounce
beauty. Hub Humphrey and R.
G. Burris got in the show at North
Lake with seven to 3Li pounds.
L B Cavities*. Leym-BarUett and
Dun Heflin fooled eighteen at
North Iptke with three goirig over
4 pounds. Most of these fish were
caught on red and orange worms.

Ira Quick caught about twenty
basa up to 4 pounds in a private
lake last week...
Some nice strings of crappie are
being caught — Hniner Sargent
and Joe Conlan had thirty-one on
one trip to Texaikana and Homer
and Tommy Lawnb caught mteon
on another. Bailey Rains and Bu
dy Cornett caught a nice string
also 'Nearer to home the South
.Lake is still producing some nice
catches. Bob Canterbury and Burl
Humphreys caught limits over the'
weekend. Ray Flowers is also do-
ing real well at that lake Glad-
ney Vick reports limit catches at
Roebuck Lake in Oklahoma.
One can gather from the reports
that the fish will cooperate if giv-
en the opportunity.

The first Favorite Foods Show
'or 4-H’ers was held in Tyler at
the East Texas Fair, Saturday,
Sept. 2. ‘ Subject matter, leaders
and members working in Units J,
Willie M. Turner, president of An-
nona Community 4-H Club, was
the Red River County participant.
She received a red ribbon. Others
attending were Betty Mathea and
Norma Jean Scales of Annona 4-H
Club; Joyce Lfinn Nix and Gwen-
dolyn Franklin of Gala Girls Com-
munity 4-H Club. Clarksville.
