Develop
The wonderful dc/plopm-ht i •. 'i c— ■
in the last fifteen years has ha< jo l
two big: factors mainly the :y ol
its people upd the application ul ue iud
to develop its resources.
Whatever has saved the time and
energy of the people has permitted
more time to ho used in upbuilding* the
strength of the Commonwealth, and
whatever has saved money for the peo-
ple of Texas has aided in the accumu-
lation of the capital necessary to the
growth of the community.
May we say that natural £as has had a not
inconsiderable part in this? It has saved
many hours of valuable timenind contributed
greatly to comfort and hence conserved the
energy of the people.
On the other side it has made the cost of fuel
so low in this part of Texas that many millions
of dollars have been saved for other invest-
ments — for the building up of the state.
Natural gas, rightfully used, need cost little
more Ilian hall the price of coal for domestic
consumption. For every dollar you have spent
for natural gas, you have saved another dollar,
when you figure in all the costs.
