Miss Joyce Lee Taylor became
the bride of Richard Dale Mercer
in a morning ceremony at the As-
sembly of God Church, Sept. 6.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs.
Johnnie Taylor of this city and
Mr. A. O. Taylor of Houston. The'
groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Alton C. Mercer of Scotsburg,
Indiana.
The double ring wedding vows
were read by Rev. H. L. Walker.
The bride was given in marriage
by her uncle, F. J. Gentry. She
chose a green two piece dress
with black accessories. Her cqr-
sage was of white carnations.
The bride’s only attendant was
Miss Willa Faye Taylor. Miss Tay-
lor wore an aqua faille princess
style dress with a shoulder cor-
sage of pale pink carnations.
John Gentry, cousin of the
bride, served the groom as best
man.
Immediately following the cer-
emony, the couple left on a wed-
ding trip to Indiana. On their re-
turn they will make their home
at the Corpus Christi Naval Air
Station where Mr. Mercer is sta-
tioned with the Navy.
