Tin TO KEEP TIIE TOWN ( LEAN.
A woman reader expresses her belief that Mex-
icans, as a whole, are as bad as little red ants in
this pantry.
There is always one ray of hope which never
fadea from the mind of a vice president. The
president is human and must die.
"Prohibition will kill poetry,” says a booze
booster. It surely will kill the kind that is bottled
in bond and inspired by a corkscrew.
There are so many great men in the courftry
that we do not feel in the least peeved when we
are not singled out as the greatest of the great.
The reason so few American soldiers are hurt
in Mexico is because the Mexicans cannot shoot
over their shoulders while running at full speed.

A clean town attracts attention whenever and
wherever it is seen. A dirty one catches the pub
lie eye in even less time-
When the streets and alleys and yards and
vacant lots in a town are clean and sanitary, it
bespeaks a like condition on the part of the resi-
dents with regard to their personal habits.
The Lord loves a clean man or woman, and
the devil worships a dirty one. Whom do you
prefer? If each person in Bonham would use
just a little more energy and thoughtfulness, we
could make Bonham the cleanest spot in the coun-
try and our reputation would grow apace.
Not only would we benefit thusly, but tie
health of the community would be vastly im-
proved and the physical capacity of the people
would be greatly increased.
Booze, boodle and big business did it, says
Cyclone Davis, speaking of the thing that
happened to him last Saturday. We can
think of some other causes that contributed,
also, but why rake up the past?—Dallas

Next- T’he St. Louis Republic has increas-

Sunday Republic to G cents. This became
necessary to meet the increased cost of pro-
duction. It is only a matter of time until all
the representative newspapers of America
will be compelled to advance the price of sub-

............. ki* two deputUw, Mi I ■
John U. Lainhart and H. G. Wheat.
The next hard work on thi rolls is
to add them, and that al-o means to
balance them. It will done at one -.
As has been stated in the Favoriti
before, this work is being done on a
typewriter, being purely mechanical
insofar as the writing of the rolls is
lOi.eerned, although, of course, there
must be a man behind the mm lime
who knows whn* he is doing.
Years ago it wo the custom to hav.-1
three rolls made out by three men,
and the beat scribe in the hunch had
the honor of seeing his roll being des-
ignated us the “honor roll," so to
speak, and sent to the eomptroller of
public accounts at Austin. It was also
the usual stereotyped style for that
worthy to write buck thut the roll
from Fannin county was the neatest
roll that had been received, etc., etc.
That is all in the past now, a- a
typewriter will write just in good \
hand for one operator as another, and
after all it is better, a the machine
work is clearer and better than any-
one's handwriting, ho matter how pm
fieient lie or she may he.

A Pennsylvania girl kissed !IG0 soldiers as
they stepped into a train for the Mexican
border. And this reminds us, if the girls
would likely take to running for office, maybe
“votes for wimmin” wouldn't be so bad after

A kissing campaign would certainly be good
politics and a sure winner, provided the candidate
was it good "looker.”
Most boys would prefer to be Ty Cobb first,
