presented to Mineola ISD

Assistant City Administrator
Mercy Rushing presented the
Mineola School Board a check
for $16,951 from the proceeds of
Kacey Musgraves' Hometown
Hang at the school board meet-
ing last Monday. The money
is to be specifically distributed
to the arts and music programs
of Mineola, and other Wood
County school districts.
The total amount of proceeds
($65,700) generated from the
concert held in late September
at the Mineola Nature Preserve
will be distributed to all Wood
County school districts based
on the schools' enrollment
numbers.
A letter to Wood County
schools read by Musgraves'
mother, Karen, stated, "I'm
writing to let you know that I
am so proud of where I come
from and I am very happy to

train station pavilion in Mineola Monday

together as fools. Love is the only force
capable of transforming an enemy into a

inches in 2014, accord-
ing to Wastewater

Mineola received 5.72
inches or rain, fol-
lowed by 3.57 in Feb-
ruary (January and
February 2014 com-
bined for only 3.66
inches).
Last year's rain
continued in March
when it was reported
8.32 inches of rain
dropped with April

son, the year of 2014

School Band earned
third place Nov. 2 in San
Antonio and band mem-
bers recently brought
home some individual
awards.
