filling in the middle of week
and got ourself directly behind
the eight ball—failing to meet the
deadline with a column We had
plenty of news to tell and manag
ed to get it elsewhere in the paper.

telling a trick that David Clabaugh
pulled on his wife, I^>uise. For sev-
eral years David has been bring-
ing ducks from hunting'trips and
Louise has been preparing duck
and dressing for the table. How
ever, David has failed to tell her
what kind of ducks they were and
We suspect they were the type that
meat duck hunters don't even bo-
ther to shoot.
During duck season this year
David brought home a duck and
ordered duck dressing. Mrs. Cla-
bough prepared it to order and as
they were eating the meal tauiae
remarked that she believed it was

and he is nearly two weeks old

D. M. STOVALL of Carthage and
James Marvin Cammack of Gregg-
ton have purchased a new drug
store in Atlanta. James ia a former
Carthaginian and was once employ-
ed by Mr. Stovall at Carthage Drug.
James moved to Greggton eight
years ago and haa operated Cam-
mack Drug during that time. He
and Mr. Stovall have acquired in-
terest in the Alexander Hughes
Pharmacy in Atlanta. Richard Mc-
Cutchan. pharmacist from their
Greggton store, Is also a partner
and will manage the Atlanta busi-
ness.
The business has been located in
Atlanta for 36 years and ia a
franchised Rcxall Store. They plan
a complete re modeling project in
the near future.

bly due to that no one cares to be
moving around during the holiday
season.
However, three families were ad-
ded to the list of Carthage resi-
dents during December. They were
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Lee Hughes.

Held Monday
In Marshall
Funeral services were held at
3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30 at Hill
Crest Baptist Church Marshall for
F.ddic Show Gentry, 71. of 2002
N. Franklin, Marshall, who died
of a heart attack en route to Mem-
orial Hospital about 10:45 Satur-
day morning.
The Rev. Lindley White, pastor
of the church, conducted the ser-
vices. Burial was in the Waldrop
Cemetery in Panola County under
the direction of Rains, Talley and
Calhron Funeral Home of Marshall.
Pallbearers were grandsons of the
deceased.
A retired farmer and sawmill
worker, Mr. Gentry was born
March 21, 1890 in Panols County,
the son of Marion it. and Ellendor
Guthrie Gentry. He waa a member
of the Hill Creat Baptist Church,
Marshall.
Surviving arc his wife. Mrs. F.s-
ter Gantry, Marshall; three dau-
ghters, Mrs. Ruby Pearl Ross and
Mrs. Vertie Mac Stone, both of
Marshall and Mrs. Eddie Ruth Har-
rison of Daingerfield; six sons, Li-
nas Noland Gentry of Longview,
Herbert J. Gentry of Cluti, Doyle
Gentry of Pittsburg. Albert N.
Gentry of Daingerfield, Arthur
Baker Gentry of Divine, V. I*p
Gentry of Longview; one aister,
Mrs. Verna Ramsey of Henderson;
