The key word is EVENT, which is a fancy

We know that there are people who feel
intimidated and yet are interested in
autocrossing. We would like to have you
come out so that we can introduce you to:
(a) the registration procedure, (b) the
technical inspection procedures, (c) the
various "worker" jobs that are a part of
autocrossing, and (d) autocrossing
itself, which means some individual
driving instruction.
The course will be risk-free and not
particularly fast. Your scores will not
be published. This will be a low
pressure, non-competitive event. Auto-
crossing is, after all, ultimately a
SOCIAL event as well as a DRIVING one.
(Barely 4-6 minutes is usually spent on
the course; the rest of the time is spent
visiting.)
Myra Sutton and I would also like to say
that even if you are not interested in
the driving part of this event/party,
please come out for the chance to meet
and greet the officers and board members
of the club and find out about some of
our other events: tours, dinner meetings
and programs, the national Parade (you've
read that we just bid to have one in our
area), rallies, and more.
We will also have lunch and refreshments
at the autocross site. Which brings us
to a very IMPORTANT POINT. We must have
a head count by Wednesday, September 19
to ensure the correct number of
instructors, loaner helmets, and to order
the food. Please RSVP to one of these:
Myra Sutton (Membership) 214/690-6205
Linda Bambina (Activities) 214/241-7556
Steve Kent (Facility Host) 817/737-3330..
Special Note: This type of event has
never been done before. It may never be
done again. This is your golden
opportunity. Call now. (Yikes! This
sounds like an ad for RONCO!)
