School began at this place Mon-
day morning.
Mr. and Mrs W. W. Smith are the
proud parent# of a baby boy bom,
October 27.
George Heed and Miwt Lula Dren-
nan were married Saturday after-
noon at 5 o’clock at the residence of
S. D. Hurt, who performed the cere-
mony.
Mrs. Hud Vancleave of Tuscola,
who has been spending a few days
with her daughter, Mrs. W, W.
Smith returned home Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Bingham of
Beattie spent Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. F. A. Ferrill.
Mr. atd Mrs. J. E. Hurt and Mrs.
J. L Woolsey and Mr Troy Mimms
were the guests of Mr. and Mrs.
S. D. Hurt Sunday.
At the class room in the church
last Friday evening, the Wilaon
Fielder Gass of the First Baptist
Church enjoyed a Halloween social
The room was decorated with moons
stars and jack olanteros. carrying
out the holiday motif.
For more than two hours such
games as “Going to Siam,” “Water
Relay” and “Seeking Fortunes" oc-
cupied the time of tH T*** W
while Horace and Hi White. Har-
man Jones and Eiymd Fhgan fur-
nished music for the occasion’. ,
Mrs. E. E. Anthony and Dr. and
Mrs. Maddox, at chaperones, saw to
it that there was not. a dull moment
during the entertainment,
j Refreshments consisting of nuts,
apples and home made candy were
served. ,
After the refreshments ah old
fashioned sing song was held.

Vandyke School is progressing
nicely, the scholars seem bo be en-
joying thrtr work. •

her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs.
Arch Patton Sunday.
Mr. Durham from Qomanche has
rented a large portion of W. H.
Fritts’ farm, and began breaking
land.

ed. Every one enjoyed a pleasant

Comanche visited Virgil’s father and
mother Saturday and Sunday.
Grandma Hickey who has been
visiting her daughter, Mrs. Lee in
De Leon has returned to her home at

Hasse to the west.
M. J. Salters made a business trip
