BRADY, Texas, Dee. :i— From
nil iepoils everyone had a wonder-
ful Thanksgiving—a bountiful
Thanksgiving dinner, relatives to
enjoy it with, and a lovely day.
There were some visitors in the
community and some of the folks
went visiting with their ehihlren.
Marlin liarwnth and M. F’. Mat*
ejka of Sail Jose, Calif., spent the
past week visiting with relatives
lieie Tuesday evenimr at the club
room Mr. Metejka showed soma ;
films that he had made mi liis trip
to Oregon. The film was in color,
with the scenes being very beau-
tiful. I.ots of scenes were shown
of his home in California. Some I
of tile things that appealed to
most were the large flowers that
lie nail ri 'Wn. A numbci of seem -|
were of the Redwood Forest, some
of the trees being unbelievable in j
size. One large truck was loaded
wiin three logs, tiieii just down
tiie load was a truck with only a
part of a log. This one measured ,
fifteen feet in diameter, and on '
the film it looked like a stick of
stove wood, in comparison to the
tiuge decs left standing.
Lots of scenes were of compan-
ies, tFiat are growing flowers for
seed. Some huge strawberries were
shown, also tile patches where the
plants are grown.
The films were so pretty that we
wish everyone could hnve had the
oportunity to see them. Mr. Mat-
ejka is a cousin of the Hurds. We
enjoyed the films very much and
arc soiry that more did not get
to sec them. ( offee and cake, with
an assortment of cookies, were
set veil. Mr. Matejkn and Mr. Har-
wath served some Washington
grown npples.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Johnnson
were Thanksgiving dinner guests
in the home of their daughter, Mrs.
Bohhyc Lee Miller and family in
the 1 lodge community.
