Alfred Fleming Wednesday af-
ternoon.
Mrs. H. D. Barrick of Bogata,
underwent a major operation at
the Grant Hospital in Deport on
Tuesday.

A son, Ronnie Dee, was born at
the Grant Hospital in Deport to
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lee Ander-
son of R2, Bogata, on Oct. 20.
Mr. and Mrs. Dick DeBerry and
Miss Donie Woolley of Idabel,
Ok., visited their sister, Mr. and
Mrs. Drew Hancock, Sunday.
Mrs. Robert Earl Nolan and
children of Bisbee, Ariz., came
this week for a visit with her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Cothem.
Mrs. Walter Pettit and two
daughters, Linda and Brenda,
were week end guests of her sis-
ter, Mrs. E. C. Maenner at Dallas.
Mr. and Mrs. John Dean Davis
of Beaumont, have returned
home after spending last week
end with his mother, Mrs. Stella
Davis.
Mrs. Virgil Wood and daugh-

went a major operation at a Tem-
ple clinic Thursday, is reported
resting as well as could be ex-

Dale Watts of the Johntown
school faculty is in a Mt. Vernon
hospital after an emergency ap-
pendectomy Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Garrett \ys-
ited Thursday in the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Ois Swaim at Talco. Mr.
and Mrs. Swaim have moved into
their new home there.
Friends are glad to learn that
Mrs. Son Pirtle, who has been
quite ill at a Gladewater hospital,
is improving rapidly.
Miss Billy Forester, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Forester of
Morris Chapel, is improving af-
ter being confined to her bed for
sometime.

rescued the girl from the burn-
ing house near Hagansport last

over the week end with their par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Claud Grayson
and Mrs. John Terry.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Chesshire
and Mr. and Mrs. George Ches-
shire of Ft. Worth, spent Sunday
in the home of their parents, Mr.

were in Temple Thursday to at-
tend the bedside of Mrs. Walter
Wood. Mr. and Mrs. Craddock,
Mrs. Wood and Kelley Watters
returned Friday, Mrs. Moore re-
maining for a longer stay.

the bedside of their mother, Mrs.
H. L. Chesshire, near Clarksville,
who has been quite ill since Fri-

the Yamboree opening at Gilmer
on Wednesday night.
Mrs. Vivian Westbrook and
her mother, Mrs. Smith and
brother, Jeff Smith of Bogata,
moved to Talco Saturday into the
house formerly occupied by Mr.
and Mrs. P. O. Wilhite.
Dale Watts, son of Mr. and Mrs.
James Watts of Johntown, and
a teacher in the Johntown school,
underwent an appendectomy at
a Mt. Vernon hospital Monday.
He is the grandson of Mr. and
Mrs. N. A. Gibson of Bogata.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Henry and
children and Mrs. Ed Hunt of San
Antonio, returned home last week
after being called here by the ill-
ness of Mr. Henry’s father at Ha-
gansport.
Mr. and Mrs. Lindsey Ward and
children of Longview, were week
end visitors in the home of her
sister, Mr. and Mrs. Pete John-
son and his brother, Mr. and Mrs.
Ben Ward Jr.
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Ward
have received word from their
son, James, saying he was now
stationed at Camp Polk, La., and
was assigned to the Anti-Aircraft
Artillery Division.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wood
and her mother, Mrs. Fred Rob-
erta, viaited in the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Stanley Cox at DeKalb
Sunday. Mr*. Cox and daugh-
ter, Kay, returned with Mrs. Rob-
erts for a visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Juarez Jordan are
having their house in south Bo-
gata torn down in preparation to
moving it to their dairy farm at
Rosalie. They have an apart-
ment at the home of Mr, and Mrs.
Malcolm Wright while the mov-
ing is being done.
