Hermon Wade Philley ofWhlte-

p.m., Saturday, Nov. 18, In Pine
Grove Presbyterian Church, the
Rev. Walter Sam Rice, pastor,
officiating.
Parents of the bride are Mr.
and Mrs. Thomas Grant of
Clarksville. The groom Is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H, Phll-
ley of Whitewrlght.
Mrs. Eugene Bowers of
Clarksville, great aunt of the
bride, presented traditional
wedding music. Miss Jan Gist
and Miss Susan Brown of
Clarksville sang "I Love You
Truly” and “Whither Thou
Goest" as a duet.
The bride was given In mar-
riage by her father.
Mias Paula Sauls of Clarks-
ville was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss Car-
olyn Brown of Annona and Mrs.
J. J. Diehl, Lawton, Ok la.
Sharon Grant of Annona, the
bride’s niece, and Kristy Mc-
Clure of Demon, niece at the
bridegroom, were flower girls.
John Bedlnger of Tyler was
best man. Groomsmen were
Bill Blard of Tyler and P. E.
Wade of Dellas.
Ushers were Dickie Grant of
LfwlsvlUe, the bride’s brother,
and Dudley Peek ofclarksvlUe.
Four seven-branched can-
delabrum, holding antique gold
tapers, entwined with Ivy, and
baskets of bronze chrysanthe-
mums adorned the altar. The
chancel -rail was graced with
smllex, white tapers and white
doves. Golden satin bowa with
white velvet doves marked the
family pews.
Following the ceremony the
couple was honored at a
reception In tlie fellowship hall
of the church.

themums and greenery adorned
the hall. '
Miss Debbie Grant of Annona,
the bride’s niece, presided at
the bride’s book at the registry.
She also distributed rice begs.
The serving table was laid
with a floor-length pleated taf-
feta cloth and caught atthe cor-
ners with golden satin ribbons
and white velvet doves. A mass
arrangement of white carna-
tions and candytuft In a tall
golden compote centered the
table. The three-tiered white
colonnade wedding cake was
topped with a miniature bride
and groom. It was served with
orange punch, nuts and mints.
Presiding at the table were
Mrs. Ted Grant of Annona, and
Mrs. Dickie Grant at Lewis-
ville; slsters-ln-law of the
bride, and Mrs. Thom McClure
of Denton, sister of the bride-
groom.
After a wedding trip to New
Orleans they will be at home
In Tyler.

The WMU of First Baptist
Church met Monday night, No-
vember 20, in the fellowship
hall of the church. Mra. Prank
Cornelius, mission study chair-
man, had charge of the pro-
gram. Site reviewed the book,
“Africa--Arrow^ to Atoma,"
assisted by Mrs. Hastings, Mrs.
Westfall and Mrs. Washington,
and other members.
An African meal was pre-
pared for the occasion.
The monthly tusingss meet-
ing was conducted by the presi-
dent, Mrs. J. W. Nichols, since
the Christmas parade Is sched-
uled for the night of the regu-
lar business session.

view Methodist Assembly, near
Palestine. They took the mem -
bars of the Guild on an Imag-
inary tour of the beautiful
ground, Impressive ceremon-
ies down the path at prayer and
gave highlights of the meeting.
