On Friday, January 5 the Rebel JV
and Varsity played host to the Chisum
Mustangs The J V team took the court

The win gave the Rebels a 3-0

The Rivercrest Rebels met Chapel
Hill in their 2nd district game of the
season on Tuesday night at Chapel
Hill The Rebels had defeated DeKalb
in their first district game. But the
Red Devils who always give the
Rebels a good game draw their re-
spect. After one quarter the score was
13-10 Rebels. The Retxfls who have
been playing without poSt, Chase
Collins, due to an ankle injury were
happy to have Collins return to the
court Tuesday night. Kerry Posey
has helped tremendously in the ab-
sence of Collins and went to the
board for 17 points Tuesday. The
Rebels settled down and had a com-
fortable 31-19 lead at the half. Scores
had come from Posey, Keith Hines.
Michael Galloway, Chase Collins,
Clinton Cheat wood and the team con-
ductor, Kyle Stansell.
The final quarters were all Rebel
bringing the game to a 70-45 win for
Rivercrest. High scorer for the game
was Keith Hines with 19 points fol-
lowed by Kerry Posey with 17 and
Michael Galloway with 15. Also scor-
ing were Chase Collins-7, Kyle
Stansell-6, Clinton Cheatwood-4 and
Stephen Shade-2.
The Rebels were set to play Chisum
at home on Friday night and planning
to put yet another win under their
belts.
Lady Rebels 3-0 in district play
As of Tuesday night, Jan. 2, 2001
the L.ady Rebel varsity was unde-
feated in district play.
In Tuesday's games at Chapel Hill
the JV Lady Rebels began the eve-
nings play. At the half they led the
Lady Red Devils 27-20. But, the tables
turned in the third and Chapel Hill
went up by 10 points. In the final
quarter the Lady Rel>els made a strong
effort to take the lead but were de-
feated 55-53.
The Varsity Lady Rebels and the
Lady Red Devils were tied 15 all at
the end of the first quarter. Rachel
Case had made key plays on the de-
fense for the Lady Rebels but she and
Cheryl Griffin got into early foul
trouble. By the half time buzzer the
Lady Rebels held a slim lead, 37-34.
The game continued to be a close
one in the third with the quarter end-
ing 48-42 Lady Rebels. In the final
quarter the Lady Rebels increased
their lead and took their 3rd district
win 66-57.
High scorer for the game was Kim
Shirely with 29 points. Also scoring
were Cheryl Griffin-8; Brittany Bull
2; Erica Williams-18; Kim Ross-2;
Rachel Case-4; Jessica Rose-1 and
Jennifer Hays-2.
The Lady Rebels were set to host
Chisum on Friday night at RHS.
Community resource association
to hold monthly meetings
The Red River County Commu-
nity Resource Association will hold
their monthly meeting on January 18
at 8:30a.m. at the First National Bank
of Clarksville community room lo-
cated across from Wal-Mart on Hwy
82.
This month's speaker will be Amy
Lebus, donor recruiter for Stewart
Regional Blood Center.
The meetings are for area agen
cies/organizations who cover Red
River County and have an interest in
the health and well being of county
residents. There are no membership
fees, meetings are kept casual and
informal.

Lady Mustangs of Chisum Both
teams came into the game with no
district losses. Following one quarter
of play the Lady Rebels trailed II 15
and continue to lag behind at the half
32-38. Brittany Bull had came off the
Lady Rebel bench to have possibly
her best game this season for the team

The 1 .ady Rebel J V set the pace for
the evening with a 58-43 win over the
Lady Pats in the first game of the
evening.
The Lady Rebel varsity started off
slow but led the Lady Pats 14-9 after
one quarter. In the second the Lady
Pats, who had a good night on the
court, stayed close. When the buzzer
sounded the Lady Rebels were up 25-'
20.
In the third the L.ady Rebels fell
behind 43-44 as the Lady Pats pushed
them hard They had outscored the
LadyRebels21-l I in the second quar-
ter and added 14 points in the third to
the 1 ady Rebels 20 points. It was the
wake up call the L.ady Rebels needed
and they showed new life in the final
quarter pushing the l.ady Pats hard
With 18.6 seconds left in the game
the l.ady Rebels were up 63-66 leav-
ing room for the L.ady Pats to tie the
game. The L.ady Pats were forced to
foul and the Lady Rebels Kim Ross,
Cheryl Griffin and Erica Williams
capitalized on free shots. Kim Shir-
ley was sent to the bench with foul
trouble with only :09 seconds left in
the game after hitting 4 treys and 4
field goals in the game. Extra effort
from all of the Lady Rebels came at
the right time but standouts were
Kim Ross who hit 2 treys, a field goal
and made 4 free shots in the quarter
and Erica Williams who hit 3 field
goals and 2 free shots. Final; L.ady
Rebels 70-Lady Pats 65. The win set
the l.ady Rebels with a district record
of 4-1. High scorer for the game was
Erica Williams with 19 points. Also
scoring were Kim Shirley, Kim Ross.
Cheryl Griffin, Rachel Case and
Charla Hines.
The Rebel varsity took the floor
for the final game of the evening and
as in the girls game the Pats gave the
Rebels a run for their money in the
first quarter which ended 12-9 Rebels.

ing the first 4 points of the game and
adding 4 more points before the
quarter's end In the second Keith
Hines went to work for the Rebels
scoring 12 points along with Chase
Collins and Michael Galloway who
added a total of 8 points to end the
half up 32-14.
The third quarter saw the Pats frus-
trated as the Rebels went ahead 51-
22. In the final quarter the Rebels had
the Pats where they wanted them,
down. All the Rebel team members
got playing time in the last half and
three pointers were added by Myron
Ellis. Nathan Carroll and Michael
Galloway. Final 70-31 Rivercrest
The win leaves the Rebels on top
with a 4-0 district record. High scorer
for the game was Keith Hines with 19
points. Also scoring were Chase Col
lins, Kerry Posey, Michael Gallo-
way, Steven Shade, Nathan Carroll,
