The state has been hit again by
the fire bug. Friday fire broke
out at the Rusk penitentiary and
destroyed property to the amount
of $112,000. The buildings that
burned, with their contents, were
the machine shops, the carpenter
shop, laundry, hospital, dining
room, and guard’s diningroom.

so high an office. It wonld not be
prudent for the Star to attempt a

A Nervous Woman Finds
Relief After Many Years
Women who suffer from extreme
nervousness, often endure much
suffering before finding any relief.
Mrs. Daniel Kintner, of Defiance,
O., had such an experience, regard-
ing which she s'ays:
”1 had stomach
trouble when I waa
eighteen years old
that broke down
my health, and for
years I suffered
with nervousness,
headache. Indiges-
tion and nervous
spasms. The
spasms got so bad
I would have them
three or four times
a week. After try-
ing nearly every
remedy recom-
mended, I began
taking Dr. Miles*
Nervine, and I must say It helped me
wonderfully. I have had no severe nerv-
ousness for several years.”

that fail to produce results because
they do not reach the seat of the
trouble. Dr. Miles' Nervine has
proven its value in such cases so
many times that it is unnecessary
to make claims for it. You can
prove its merits for ,yourself by
getting a 'bottle of your druggist,

receive no benefit.

A gpapisAsn of the whale-head
stork, or shoebill, of the White Nile, j
one of the rarest and oddest birds
that is known, recently reached the
London zoological gardens. These j
birds live in almost inaccessible
swamps in the interior of Africa,
and are 60 hard to capture that, un-
til now, none had been brought to
Europe for more than forty years.
The whale-head stork is probably a
heron, rather than a stork, although
it resembles both birds in appear-
ance and characteristics. The adult
bird stands more than four feet high.
It has tc enormous head, with a
small cMst that gives it a ridiculous
look. The bill is very large; the
upper blade is concave and has
ihazp cutting edges, and the lower
I jaw is somewhat like that of a pcli- |
can. The feathers are grayish. The
birds are supposed to feed upon
small fish and mammals, such as rats
and mice. They have a comical
habit, especially when they eat, of
winking the pale membrane that .
protects the eye. The specimen that .
is now in London was taken from
j the nest and reared by hand.
