HUGH CLARK CLOSES
SUCCESSFUL MEETING
(Continued from Page 1)
rob one of joy will hinder his pro-
gress and cause his doom.
"CHARACTERS OF SIN''
"Characters of Sin' wero discussed
by Clark in his Friday night sermon.
Ho showed that tho llfo of Bin is un
fruitful Bhameful disgraceful and de
structive. The threo kinds of shamo
aro natural shame Godly shamo or
consciousness of. tho presence of
God and penat shame. Tho results
of shamo aro physical death and in
tho end eternal destruction. His final
plea was that tho only way of escapo
is through Jesus Christ.
"FAULT FINDING"
Rovcaling tho tendencies of most
Christians Clark preached on "Fault
Finding" Saturday morning. "Ono
with tho spirit of a fault finder is
blind in estimating others; ho esti-
mates himsolf higher than ho is; he
is led to pride and self-satisfaction;
ho kills his own usefulness and
brings condemnation to himsolf"
said Clark. "Tho only euro for tho
fault finder is to bridle his tongue'
repent and change his wilj and de-
velop Christian love."
"PUTTING OFF CHRISTIANITY"
Tho text of Clark's sermon Satur-
day night was taken from Acts 24:25
and was based on putting off becom-
ing a Christian oven as the character
Felix did. Felix failed to consider
tho hardening tendency of sin and tho
dcceitfulncss of tho human heart.
Reasons why some pcoplo put off
Christianity aro: Youth when tho
passions are strong and desire to have
a big time possesses one being too
busy and not worrying enough about
the' future. One should not uso any
of these excuses because now is tho
only time he is positively sure ho has.
"FORGIVENESS"
Basing his theme on "Forgiveness"
Sunday morning Evangelist Clark
showed that hatred is sin and Chris-
tians must havo the spirit of forgive-
ness in order to be saved. God can
not forgive a person with an unfor-
giving nature nor can ho bo reconciled
to a person who will not turn away
from his nature. "Forgiveness is
moro than mere indifference to an act
and moro than the refusal to exchange
blow for blow'.' he stated. "It is hav-
ing an attitudo of a brother toward
our enemies. Christians should re-
member that tho best of pcoplo have
to bo forgiven somo things."

he was wealthy was a ruler young
had a worthy discontent with his lot
was an earnest seeker for tho better
had courage was reverential and
moraly clean. But ho lacked spiritual
life. Tho result of his rofusal caused
him to fall to becomo a follower of
Jesus and to bo lost' in spito of the
lovo Christ had for him. Ho went
