Psychology conference
Three members of Ihe ACU psychology
department will attend the Annual Con-
ference of the Division of Trainers of
Psychologists this weekend at Baylor in
Waco.
Dr. Edwin Hcadrick head of the
psychology department and Drs. Luther
Marsh and Ray Whiteside professors of
psychology will attend the conference.
Headrick is on an advisory board of the
association which is studying the master's
programs in psychology at Texas schools
in order to make a recommendation about
voluntary certification of the 'school
programs.
Marriage Counseling
The Institute of Marriage and Family
Studies sponsors communication coun-
seling sessions for couples every Monday
from 7-9 p.m. said Dr. Paul Faulkner
Bible professor and director of the in-
stitute. The counseling sessions are in room 205
of the Sherrod Center for Marriage and
Family Studies. The couples usually hear
a short lecture from Faulkner and then are
divided into growth groups.
In addition to the therapy service
private counseling is available. Couples
desiring to participate in counseling
should contact Faulkner at ext. 2095

The Texas Legislature will be voting
soon on 'information gathered by the
Sunset Advisory Committee.

effectiveness of the State Board of
Psychological Examiners the board

determine the fate of the board.
ACU's psychology department has
contacted Senator Ed Howard and State
Representative Mike Ezell both ACU
exes to voice concern over the vote.

Investment contracts expire
Three of ACU's money management
contracts expired last June said L.D.
Hilton vice president of finance. "Now we
decide where our funds are to be in-
vested" he said.
The contracts are no longer held by the
three primary equity money managers
the Common Fund of New York First
National Bank of Dallas and the Republic
National Bank of Dallas. Instead the $15
million endowment fund lies completely in
the hands of the ACU investment com-
mittee. In the past 75 percent of the endowment
fund was managed by the finance com-
mittee but with the extra work load the
finance department recently has em-
ployed Tim Yarbrough to assist Hilton in
the investments.

With a large percentage of the en-
dowment fund invested in real estate and
with the appreciation of land iq the last
year the endowment fund has risen
considerably. Hilton said however that
the profits are usually invested back in to
land stocks or bonds.
Moreover Hilton contends that the in-
crease in the endowment fund is an at-
tributing factor in keeping the tuition low.
"All the tuition fees sales gifts grants
and the endowment fund go into one big
cycle. If there is more of one thing then
there is less of another" said Hilton.

painting to 122 faculty and staff Century
Club members at a reception Wednesday
in the Main Room of the Campus Center.
A total of 1005 Century Club members

East Gardner parlor for eligible freshmen.

Auditorium.

Kent Distributing Company and the
Sanderson State Bank.
Financial aid
Students who applied for Texas
Equalization Grants or Federally Insured
Student Loans will receive a card in the
mail soon asking' them to come to the
financial aid office said Jerry Mullins
director of student financial aid.
The students must sign forms or checks
so the money can be credited to their
account Mullins said.
