Survival games capture
students' attention
ByEMCSTRAUTMAN
Several ACU students shot each other
with guns recently. "It was a lot of
fun" said Scott Bray junior advertis-
ing major from Sacramento Calif.
The students were participating jn a
game called Hone Cavalry and Foot
Soldiers. This game and a similar one
the Survival Game are two simulated
war games gaining popularity in the
Abilene area.
These games have been played in
the Abilene area for about a month
but similar games have been played in
larger cities for several years.
Both games are based on a children's
game called Capture the Flag. The ob-
ject of the game is to capture the op-
posing team's flag. Players defend
themselves and attack the opposition
with guns that shoot paint projectiles.
The water soluble paint marks the
players where they were shot
If shot in the legs or arms a player Is
considered wounded and must stay out
