Garden Club
Makes Annual
Pilgrimage
Annua! spring pilgrimage to
study native and unusual plants
was made Thursday, April 19.
by members of Kermit Garden
Club.
Two unusual collections were
visited in Wink. One was the
greenhouses and gardens of
Mrs. C. T. Helms, 711 North
Gardner Street and the other
was at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Otto Meyer, 210 South
Gardner.
At the Helms greenhouse out-
standing plants of Gloxinias,
African Violets, and Angel Wing
Begonias in full bloom were ex-
hibited.
Mrs. Meyer featured gerani-
ums, oriental pepper and Afri-
can Violets. Both gardeners
have an unusual collection of
various plants.
Each club member wore a
flower in observance of Nation-
al Garden Club Week.
The group met in the home
of Mrs. T. H. Stroud before the
pilgrimage began. Mrs. Pruett
Rash, president, was in charge
of a brief business session.
Others making the tour were
Mrs. Brent Clark, Mrs. J. A.
Crossno, Mrs. I. O. Fannin,
Mrs. John Gammill, Mrs. Mar-
vin Owen, Mrs. Harold Rydell,
Mrs. Jim Crossno, Mrs. J. M.
Waddell, Mrs. Bruce Wright,
Mrs. Vance Van Pelt and Mrs.
H. C. Murrie.
DOG BLOOD DONOR HELPS
OTHER INJURED ANIMALS
LINCOLN, Nebr. — Tornado,
a 5-year-old dog owned by Dr.
Ralph Ebers, a veterinarian in
Lincoln, is an animal blood
bank.
In the last few years, Tornado
has provided 16 pints of blood,
in half-pint portions, used by
Dr. Ebers to save the lives of
sick or injured dogs.

and judges were Mrs. J. M.
Waddell, Mrs. Gullett an Mrs.
Verne Jackson.

Speak in City
Ed Foreman of Odessa, Re-
publican candidate for United
States Representative from the
16th Congressional District of
West Texas, will be in Kermit
Wednesday where he will speak
during the evening to the pub-
lic, make a radio address and
visit with residents throughout
the city.
Mrs. H. B. Phillips, Republi-
can Party of Winkler County
spokesman, said Foreman will
speak Wednesday evening at
8:30 o’clock in the meeting room
of the local radio station. He
will speak on the air in the
morning.
