For the past seven years Mankin
has served as the minister for the
Madison Church of Christ in
Nashville Tenn. which is the larg-
est congregation among the Chur-
ches of Christ.
Fair said Mankia's respon-
sibilities at ACU will lackde the
planning snd dmiatrtfoa of pro-
grams devoted to developing Cam-
tkta leadership. He will teach

initially give attention to leadership
issues facing preachers elders and
deacons of the Churches of Christ"

sion Program and other works like

"The purpose of the Apprentice
Mission Program is to formally
train individuals for the mission
field" said Tom Craig sophomore
public relations major from
Abilene. Craig plana to travel to
Skelmersdale with sir. other indi-
viduals in June for the Apprentice
Mission Program.
Five of the seven individuals are
scheduled to stay In Skelmersdale
for 11 weeks to knock doors
distribute leaflets and teach. The
other two apprentices will continue
working for 14 aioatbasid Craig.

supervising and coordinating eflec-

"A person interested in going to
Skelmersdale either for 11 weeks or
14 months will take a screening test
after the four and one-half months
of preparation to ensure mental
preparation for the trip" said
Hagler. Besides learning about
evangelism Hagler said the indi-
viduals need "an awareness of the
culture they'll be living in as well as
good attitudes about each other
because they will be working
closely together for a good
ottiase."

taught the nature of the program

Gleadmaiag said these wiwaions
are not a vacation and are not to be
taken lightly. "Come and stay the
whole time or don't come at all"
