rig permits issued by the City of
3rady during June and July.
Permits for the two-month per-
od totaled $122,(550. They were is-
lued to the following persons:

sons, James Finlay, Jr., of Fife
and Robert Finlay of Au«‘in; a
sister, Mrs. T. Carlson of Brown-
wood; seven grandchildren, and
one great-grandchild.

Education hns reduced the school
tax rate from $1.70 to $1 45, fol-
lowing a recent Increase In valua-

Despite the heavy demand,
Nixon says the water plant
has had no trouble in keeping
the lines supplied.
“At no time have we had
lc*s than fi’10.003 gallons in
our big rcservtir on the louth
side,” he said.
Nixon, however, is most im-
: pressed by the increase in elec-
tricity here. Air-conditioning, more
refrigerated units, and more ap-
pliances are responsible.

Melvin Tittle shot a 71 Tuesday
to top the list in the fourth of a
series of summer .schoolboy golf
tournaments at the Municipal Golf
Course. Tittle finished second in
th>* last tournument, losing hy one
stroke to Jimmy Criswell who shot
a 71.
The next meet is set for 9 a. m.
Thursday, Aug. 2. It will be open
t all boys in the state Awards
for the first and second-place
winners will he awarded in each
