We were sorry to learn of the
death of Claude Skidmore who
passed away last Saturday morn-
ing. Funeral services were held
Monday in Fort Worth ar.d he
was buried in a Fort Worth ceme-
tery.
Miss Lynda Hemphill, Justine
Johnson, Mary Helen Bratton and
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Huntington of
Melvin went to San Marcos early
last Saturday morning to atttend
a State FIIA Convention. Mrs.
Huntii.gton is their Home Econo-
mics teacher.
Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Murrell and
Mrs. Sallie McCulloch spent the
day Sunday with their daughter
and granddaughter, Mrs. I>. <
Chandler und family of Stephen-
Ville.

teachers’ meeting in San Angelo.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank (Juice and
girls of Eden visited his parents,
the F. C. (Juices last Saturday af-

ited their son, Ona James in the
Eden hospital last Thursday and
Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stafford

Mrs. Stanley Rahke and daugh-
ter. Nancy, from San Antonio,

Sunday after dinner with her par-

We were happy to have the
newly-married couple, Mr. and
Mrs. Woodrow Hall from San
Marcos to attend the services Sun-
day morning. They spent the week-
end with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Omer Hall.
The bridal shower given in
honor of Mrs. Cary Sutton was
well attended at the schoolhou c.
They received a lot of nice gift-
Cake squares, coffee and punch
were served to the guests.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brown took
their daughter to the doctor Mon-
day. He said she didn’t have the
mumps but that she did ha\o

Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Goff and
hoys of Brady and Elton Hemphill
of Lohn, Mr. and Mis. Jimmy
Frank Hemphill and little son
were visitors in the Johnie Hemp-
hill home Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. John Collins went
to Brownwood Tuesday afternoon
to see her brother, Boh McClain,
who suffered a heart attack and
was critically ill.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Whatley
spent the week-end with Mr. and
Mrs ,J. J. Whiteley of Rylie. On
Sunday, they all attended a birth-
day dinner honoring their mother,
Mrs. R. L. Whiteley on hot Kind
birthday.
Mr. and Mrs. Dean Dunning
and little son from Rochelle spent
the day Sunday with her parents

the Omer Halls Tuesday to let
them know he wouldn’t be here
for prayer meeting Wednesday

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Henderson
ami daughter, Dilla Kay, from Sin-
ton and Mrs. Lettic Law of San
Angelo spent the week-end here,
attending to some business.
Mrs. George Allen attended
Eastern Star Chapter at Melvin
Tuesday t ight.
Misses Ruly and Hattie Spil-
lers accompanied Miss Penny Gar-
rett to Melvin Monday where they
worked in their house while Miss
Penny Garrett and Mrs. Haywo > 1
went on to Brady.
Mrs. Almon Martin visited her
mother, Mrs. Barnes in Brady last
Saturday. Mrs. Fames was dis-
missed from the hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Murray
and children of Melvin visited in
tin* Omer Hull home Sunday.
Mrs. Irene Hallmark of Abilene
spent the week-end with Mr. and
Mrs. Monroe Hallmark.
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Hix of
Brownfield visited u while in
Doole last Friday with her par-
ents. Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Myers on
their way to Austin to attend the
State Basketball game.
Mrs. John Collins attended n
Stanley party in the home of Mrs.
Mac Nance at Salt Gap Tuesday
morning. She said there was a
good crowd and slit* hud u nice
party.
Mr. ami Mrs. Harve Barnett
went to Eden Tuesday to see his
father, Dick Bainett of Melvin
who is a patient in the hospital
there. The doctor was running
some tests on him.
Mr. and Mrs. Coll Woods of
Millersview spent the day Sunday
with their daughter, Mrs. Briggs
Browning ami family.
Mr. und Mrs. Roy Henderson
and Dilla Kay and Mrs. Ig-ttic
Law visited a while Saturday
night in the B. L. Murrell home.
Mr. and Mrs. Buster Ivory are
visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dan Taylor
and girls enroute to San Angelo
where they will attend tin* rodeo.
They have been down at Houston
attending the rodeo there.
Mrs. Bat b Taylor was shopping
in San Angelo last Saturday.
The Moores received a letter
Wednesday from Mrs. T. W. Moore
in San Angelo. She said her
rat ther, Mrs. Leona Cox seems to
be some better, but isn’t able to
sit up yet.
