" Eighth Grade Testing
The eighth grade testing was
completed Friday, December 4.
These tests were delayed some
four weeks. The students were
tested on science and social
studies. This completes the
eighth grade testing program
for this year.--Russell Tyndell.
New Students
Two new students have come
to Clarksville Junior High. They
are Larry and Kay Brown.
Larry Is In the sixth grade
while Kay Is In the seventh.
These students are brother and
sister. They come from Troup,
Tex. We are glad to have them

Troop 13 Wins Second
Clarksville's annual Christ-
mas parade was held Tuesday,
Dec. 1 at 6:30 p.m. There
were many beautiful floats.
Among these was the Girl Scout
float. This float won the second
prize, which was $15. The girls
on this float were Mary Bishop,
Ann ftussell, Dianne Allen, Ruth
Proctor and Santa Claus, whose
Identity was not given. Brownies
riding on the float were Janet
Kelty, Ann Prater, Stephanie
Lovett and Misty Ogden. Other
prizes were; P - TA, first;
Spanish Club, third; Alkln Grove
4-H, honorable mention. - -

BAPTIST WMS MEETS
The Woman's Missionary
Society of the First Baptist
Church met Monday morning at
9 o'clock at the church for the
first meeting of the Week of
Prayer for Foreign Missions
and presentation of the Lottie
Moon Christmas offering. The
theme for the week Is “Wor-
ship Christ the King." Mrs.
Joe M. Murphy had charge of
the program, “Without Christ,
They Have No King.*,’ Mrs. E.
E Swann presented the calendar
of prayer and prayed for the
missionaries. Mrs. Morris
Bassett gave the devotional
from Acta 17:22-31. As each
one gave their part on the pro-
gram, they placed objects of
pagan worship on s table. After
moments of silent prayer, Mrs.
Murphy voiced the closing pra-
yer. Those present were: Mmes
J. E. Medford, Morris Bassett,
Joe M. Murphy, E. E. Swann,
Horace Bassett, Oliver Stinson,
Wlnnl# Stewart, Lonnie Meador,
Dewey Devld, Duane Kelley,

The Ladles’ Auxiliary of
the Avery Baptist Church met
