Miss Glenda Lendamon of
Dalles became the bride of
Tony Ray Shirley.
The ceremony was performed
Jan. 10 al 6:30 p.m. at the home
of the Rev. F. E. Baughtman,
pastor of the Cherry Valley
Baptist Church of Dallas. It
Included the double - ring
service.
The bride, a senior of Wll-
mer Hutchens High School, was
dressed In a white wool suit
with fur trimming. She wore a
blue carnation corsage and car -
rled a white Bible.
The groom Is a graduate of
American Schools and now em -
ployed by Gates Rubber Comp-
any of Dallas.
Their only attendants were
Freda Mitchell, Dallas, and
Larry Fambro, cousin of the
groom.
Parents of the couple are Mr.
and Mrs. Bill Shirley, Clarks-
vlHe, Route 4, and Mr and Mrs.
GZMffyJlle Lendamon, Dallas,
MH0.
After a short trip the couple
will be at home at Route 2,
Dallas.

IN MONTHLY MEETING
Regular meeting of the County
Council was In the Chamber of
Commerce building Wednesday
evening, Japugry 8.
The meeting was called to
order by thp president, Mrs.
Frank Brum ley. Mrs. Gibbs
led the song "Onward ever
Onward,’ and the club prayer
was repeated. Fifteen were pre-
sent, with 8 clubs reporting.
The Installing of new officers
was had. Old and new business
was discussed and new club
books were ready to be sent to
different clubs.
The council was glad to wel-
come Mrs. R. T. Thompson back
after being unable to attend for
some time
Mf. and Mrs. B. T. Farley,
1201 louth Locust Street, ob-
served their 63rd wedding an-
niversary on Monday January
6. Mi and Mrs. Farley have
lived over SO years of their
rgarried life In Red River

TO WHITEROCK CLUB
The Whlterock WHDClub met
Friday, January 10, In the home
of Mrs. Selby Pace. Miss Eli-
zabeth Latimer Installed the
officers. After the Installation,
the president, Mrs. Selby Pace
called the house to order. Two
songs were sung and the club
prayer repreated. Roll call was
answered with my New Year
resolution. Minutes of the last
meeting were read and approv-
ed.
Mrs.—Pace demonstrated a
belt she had made. Mrs.Thom-
pson gave a report of the coun-
cil meeting. All old business
was-attended to. The year books
were filled out. Miss Latimer
was appointed games leader;
Mrs. Walter Hill, song leader
Mrs. W.H. Vail, pianist and
parliamentarian.
Mrs. C. M. Hindman was wel-
comed as a new member. Those

Mrs. Moody Asklns honored
her husband with a birthday
dinner Sunday, January 12. Mr.
Asklns’ mother and three of his
sisters were present. One of
his sisters, Mrs, E. F. Kidd of
Denver City, Texas, was unable
to be there.
Those present'were Mr. and
Mrs. Jock Kidd, Mr. and Mrs.
Ted Tull and Sue of Bagwell,
Mr. and Mrs. John Jackson,
Mr. and Mrs. James Essaryand
B^ud, Mrs. Ida Mae Jackson and
David of Clarksville and Mrs.
Gene Whitsell and Mlkel Gene
of Norfolk, Virginia.
Five generations were pre-
sent. Mrs. H.M, Asklns, who
was eighty five years old Dec-
ember 25, her daughter, Mrs.
John Jackson, Mrs. Jackson’s
daughter, Mrs. James Essary
and daughter, Mrs. Gene Whit-
sell and Mrs. Whltsell’s son,
Mlkel Gene, who U five weeks
old.
Mrs. Wltsell and little son
came to Love Field by plane
Saturday afternoon and were
met by her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Essary.

TO GRAHAM CIRCLE
Mrs. C’. H. Reed was hostess
to the Julia Graham Circle of
First Baptist Church for the
January meeting. Meeting was
opened with song Bless be the
Tie That Binds.'' Mrs. Ivan
Igo brought the devotional from
the 1st chapter of Luke. Mrs.
Reed gave the opening prayer.
Roll call was,, answered with
scripture verse. Minutes were

CHAPTER MEETS
' The Clarksville Chapter of
the FHA met Jan, 6 tn the High
School aixlltorlum.
The meeting was opened by
the president, Cindy Rl^e. The

Vaughan, secretary.
The girls were entertained
by a skit entitled, A Back-
ward Glance.' It portrayed a
wife and husband having family
problem. The characters were:
