fective until June 1. The month
postponement la to permit more

A proposal to amand the Fed-
eral Meat Inspection Regula-
tions to permit use of smoke
flavoring In curing additional
meat product has been made
by ths U 3. Department of Ag-
riculture. The amendment would
permit addition of smoke flavor -
lng and artificial smoke flavor-
ings to a greater variety of meat
products than present regula-
tions allow. Identification of
both types of flavoring will be
required on the labels of pro-
