The White rock Home Demon-
stration Club met Aug. 26 In the
home of Mrs. Roy Gray. The
house was called to order by
the president, Mrs. 9elby Pace.
Mrs. Vail ledthe songa, “God
Bless America" aad “Count
Your Blessings.” Theclubpra-
yer was repeated In unison.
Roll call was answered with
helpful sewing hints. Minutes
were reed and approved.
Mrs. Gray's demonstration
was making an ear screw tree.
Plans fon the booth at the fair
were discussed. Miss Latimer
was game leader.

PROGRAM COMPLETED
Mrs. E. K Mellon, librarian,
reports that 46 young people
have completed the summer
reading program requirements
and will be honored by the Texas
State Library. 125 persons were
enrolled In the program, new
this summer In Red River Cou-
nty Public Library. Over 4,000
books were checked out in a
three-month period. ~ ,
The library has resumed Its
winter hours, being open from
two until five, Tuesday through
Friday, and on Saturday from
ten until two.

Texarkana, Miss Barbara Lou-

Parks exchanged marriage
vows at half past seven Wed-
nesday evening, August 26.
The double ring ceremoo
was performed by Dr. T. J
Wilbanks.
The bride Is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. George M Smith.
Parents of the bridegroom are
Mr. and Mrs. Jack D. Parks,
all of Texarkana. ,
Preceding the cei*bmony,
Mrs. Raymond Coyle presented
a program of nuptial music,In-
cluding the traditional wedding
marches. She accompanied
Wallace Bailey, soloist, who
sang “O Perfect Love ” by Bar-
naby and “At Dawning” by Cad-
man.
The bride entered the sane -
tuary on the arm of her father
who escorted her to the alter.
Maid of honor was the bride’s
twin sister, Mias Betty Ann
Smith.
