the groom will be employed with

HONORED
Mrs. A. C. FltagersM of
Austin entertained at the home
of her parents with s luncheon
honoring Miss Lue Ellen Tef-
teller, bride-elect of Jack Her-
rington, on Thursday, Aug. 21.
The Luncheon table was
centered with s silver cake
stand holding a replica of a
Victorian bridal bouquet, under -
layed with net and with ribbon
et reamers. Places for guests

bridesmaids. The centerpiece
was presented to the honoree.

Nicholas of Avery wishes to announce the engagement and
approaching marriage of their daughter, Amy Theresa, to
Allen Ross Ward, son of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Ward,
206 Washington, Clarksville. Miss Nicholas and Mr. Ward
are both graduates of Clarksville High School. Mr. Ward
attended Paris Junior College and is now working at the Red
River Army Depot. The ceremony wlll.talf* place at the
Avery Church of Christ on September 13, at 8:00 p.m.
LANE'S CHAPEL
COMMUNITY CLUB
The Lane s Chapel Comm-
unity Club met Friday night
Aug. 16. The meeting was open-
ed with prayer by Tom Bolton.
A delicious supper was enjoyed.
After supper the meeting was
-called to order by Lois Hays and
report of the minutes was given
by Clyde Wells. A number of
suggestions were discussed on
how to raise hinds to buy fans
for the community center. A
report was given from the road
committee on progress being
msde to secure a good road In
our vicinity.
Next meeting will be Sept.
20. Everyone being Invited. The
meeting adjourned with the fol-

Professional Women's Club met

social meeting Monday evening,
Aug. 26, at 7:00, on the lawn
of Mrs. Nods Grant.
‘ After a covered dish meal,
a short business meeting was
held. Members were happily
surprised that the Clarksville
Club had been presented with a
citation on Equalisation" at
the national convention, which
was held In Dallas.
After the business meeting,
the following members and
guests enjoyed s social hour:

The Wright Circle of the
W9CS of the McKenzie Memo-
rial Methodist Church met Aug.
80 at 9:30 a.m. In the home of
Mrs. James Latimer.
The meeting was presided
over by the chairman, Mrs. J.
L. Wright, who opened the ses-
sion with the Lord's prayer,
repeated In unison. ,
Mrs. Dub Rhodes gave the
program on interpreting the
Crusade Scholars.’ She gave a
very Interesting summary on
the subject and then showed a
film, ’A Share In Leadership "

short talk, giving Informailon
about the seminar to be held at
the local church Aug. 29.
The meeting was adjourned
