RAs nominate best
9 Messy students eligible
By BRANDON YOUHQ
STUDENT REPORTER
J .
A national search for the
biggest "pigsty" on college
campuses sponsored by board
game manufacturer Milton
Bradley; is under way accord-
ir'to a press release.
The grand prize winner will
receive $1000 a professional
room cleaning an on-enmpus
party for 100 friends and a Mil-
tyi Bradley prize pack. Contes-
tants must be nominated by resi-
dent assistants. Students will be
automatically disqualified if
Jhcy intentionally ravage their
"corns for the competition. The
person who nominates the grand
prize winner will receive $1000
as well. Entries must be post-
marked by Oct. 10 and a picture
gf the room is required.
Tjs contest could bring a
small fortune to one messy stu-
dent. Many dorm residents did
not seem interested in the con-
tort but arc interested in the
prizes.
Not many rules about dorm
rooms exist. Andy Reagan RA
of Smith-Adams Hall said bath-
rooms must pass certain stan-
dards or they will be cleaned for
a $30 fee. Rooms must be fairly
clean so they do not attract
insects he said.

Byron Bundy sophomore
youth and family ministry major
from Escondido Calif. can
relate. "1 really don't care if I
have a messy room because I'm
not in it enough. My mother
hates trashy rooms but I don't
have the time to mess with it"
Bundy said.
Caleb Sawyer sophomore pre-
cnginccring major from
Granbury agreed his schedule
often determines the state of his
room. "I don't mind messy
rooms and sometimes mine gets
that way. It's nicer to have a
clean room but it's hard to do
that while you're involved in a
dozen other things" Sawyer
said.
But some students prefer clean
rooms. Bryan Chaney freshman
undecided major from Wylic
said he thinks clean rooms say a
lot about a person.
Dustin Ferguson freshman
human resource management
major from Cisco agreed.
"There's nothing worse than a
messy room. I function better
when everything is straightened
up in my room" he said.
Jordan Maples sophomore
nursing major from Fort Worth
can sec both sides. "My room
isn't messy right now and I like
it clean. I can also understand
dorm rooms getting messy
because there are important
things to do and I think that is
all right too" Maples said.
