with blue velvet cuffs. The
floor length skirts were of Ice
blue organza.
Their head pieces were petal
caplets of matching velvet and
light blue velvet tubing.
Gary Barnard of Lubbock was
the groom’s best man. The
groomsmen were Pat Wheeler,
Slaton; Wes Johnston, Houston;
I Tony Smith, Lubbock; Mike Mc-

ville, attended Texas Tech Uni-
versity for two years and Is a
Junior at Texas Women’s Uni-
versity, Denton, where she Is a
member of Gamma Phi Beta
Sorority.
The groom Is a graduate of
Texas Tech University and a
member of Kappa Alpha Order.
He Is employed by Johnston, Inc.
The reception was held Im-
mediately following the cere-
mony In the Duke’s Room at
Green Oaks Inn, Fort Worth.
After a wedding trip to Aca-
pulco, Mexico, the couple will
reside at 5720 Harvest Hill,
Dallas.

proaching marriage of their daughter, Regina Karen Bell,
to James Gerry Allen, son of Mrs. Bob Adair of Clarksville
and William Allen of Dallas.
Miss Bell Is a graduate of Clarksville High School and
Is presently attending Abilene Christian College.
Mr. Allen, also a graduate of Clarksville High School, Is
a former student at Kilgore College and Paris Junior Col-
lege. He has served In the United States Navy and Is
presently emplcjcd at Rhodes Clinical Laboratory at the
Red River County Hospital.
Vows will be exchanged December 31 in the church of
Christ at Clarksville. Frark Downes, minister, will offici-
ate at the ceremony ?t 7 o'clock In the evening.

First Baptist Church of
Clarksville was the setting Sat-
urday evening, November 28,
for the formal double-ring nup-
tials of Miss Marlena Gail Ma-
lone and Jerry Gene Warthan.
The Rev. Jim Harris of Green-
ville, former minister of the
church, heard the couple’s
pledge at 8 o'clock.
The bride Is the daughter of
Mrs. Clyde Burns of Annona
and Roy Malone of Sherman,
Mr. and Mrs. Gene Warthan of
“ClarfcKvllle are the parents of
the bridegroom.
Centering the wedding scone
at the altar was a white wrought
Iron prle dleu. A 15-branched
oval candelabrum with tall pink
tapers centered the scene and
was flanked by two-branched
candelabras with pink tapers,
entwined with Jade foliage. All
the candelabras were linked
together with garlands of green-
ery. A massive arrangement
of pink and burgandy roses on a
classic column 'completed the
setting. ^
Charles Bruce Reed III was
organist and Mis'* Vicki Rose
was pianist. Miss Paula Varley
1 was soloist. They presented
“The Twelfth of Never” and
the traditional wedding music.
Given In marriage by her
father, the bride was attired In
a full-length peau de sole gown,
completely veiled In chiffon.
Designed empire, with stand-
up collar and leg-o-mutton
sleeves; the bodice was over-
laid with lace and detailed with
$eed pearls. Her lace train
was outlined with strands of
seed pearls and her ten-tiered
waist-length silk Illusion veil-
ing was held by a velvet bow
and pearl headdress. She car-
ried a cascade of pink aristo-
crat roses and burgundy roses,
with matching ribbons.

The attendants wore Identical
full-length "empire gowns of
burgandy crepe, accented at the
hlghrlse line with pink lace.
The bodices featured stand-up
collars and full long lace
sleeves, tightly cuffed at the
wrists. Each wore a burgandy
velvet bow with streamers In
her hair and carried a single
pink rose, tied with pink satin
ribbons.
Jimmy McCasland of Clarks-
ville was the groom’s best man.
Groomsmen were Ronald M.
Cooper of Arlington and Dudley
R. Peek of Grand Prairie.
Ernest Wltnier Jr. of Clarks-
ville, Larry Crawford of Grand
Prairie and Wesley Bryant of
Annona seated guests.
The Lord’s Prayer closed
the ceremony.
A graduate of Clarksville
High School, the bride Is a soph-
omore sociology major at the
University of Texas at Arling-
ton, where she was named to
the Dean’s List.
The. bridegroom, also a grad-
uate oi Clarksville High School,
Is a Junior engineering major
at the University of Texas at
Arlington.
On Friday evening, Mr. and
Mrs. Gene Warthan entertained
their son, Jerry, and his fian-
cee, Miss Marlena Gall Malone,
at a dinner party In the fellow-
ship hall of the church. The
event was held before the wed-
ding rehearsal.
The supper table was laid with
a white cloth and centered with
an arrangement of pink and
burgundy chrysanthemums In a
silver bowl.
The honored couple presented
gifts to members of their wed-
ding party.
Twenty-four attended.
McClelland, 2812 Yates, Fort
Worth, became the bride of
Richard Hastings Johnston, son
of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Johnston,
5706 Boca Raton, Dallas, In a
formal double-ring ceremony
on Saturday, November 2R, at
8 o’clock In the evening. The
scene of the wedding was
Matthews Memorial Methodist
Church of Fort Worth with Dr.
Floyd Leggett, associate pro-
fessor of religion at Texas
Christian University, officiat-
ing.
The bride, who was escorted
to the altar and given in mar-
riage by her father, chose a
regal gown of satin and Import-
ed chantllly lace. Rows of the
delicate chantllly lace and white
satin ribbon fell gracefully from
the high neck down the softly
flared skirt. Lace and ribbon
also accented the full sheer
Bishop sleeves ending In satln-
fltted cuffs. A band of satin soft-
ened the empire waist and
formed a bow In the front. The

ered the groom’s table which
held a single silver candlestick
with tall ptnk taper and his choc -
