The Dimple Women's Home De-
monstration club met on Wednes-
day. October 3, with Mrs. Moody
Asking as hostess The meeting
was called to order by the sing-
ing of "This la My Father's
World.’ The club prayer was re-
peated. Roll car»l was answered by
giving suggestive roll calls for 1957
These suggestions were listed to
be given U> the council yearbook
committee. _
In the absence of the secretary,
the newspaper report of the pre-
vious meeting was read.
The program consisted of the
election of officers for 1957. Offi-
cers elected were as follows:

The construction and decoration
of the booth at the Red River
Fair was discussed and Mrs.
Marr appointed a committee to

Is chairman of the exhibit com-
mittee of the club. Homemade ar-
ticles were donated for use In the
booths.
Mrs. W. J. Leatherwood present-
ed a folder describing a new club
program kit to be ordered from
the Woman’s Club service Bureau.
This kit has been ordered for use
of the club.
Seven members were present and
two -visitors: Mrs. James Harold
Mauldin and Mrs. R. D. Stringer.

BOGATA GARDEN CLUB
Mrs. Albert DeBerry was hostess
for the Bogata Garden Club Octo-
ber 3, at her heme in North
Bogata. Lovely cut flowers decor-
ated the living room and dining
room.
The club opened with the club
song and prayer. An installation
service was held lor the new offi-
cers. Fifteen members answered
roll call with "Facts about bulbs
and flowers.' The new president
named committees for the new
year. Mrs. John Hooker was wel-
ermed as a new member.
DJ clous refreshments were
served and the club adjourned to
meet October 17th with Mrs. Gor-
don DeBerry.

ETSTC is one of the first colleges
in the southwest to obtain the vac-
cine. College hospital personnel will

ment 4 were given by Fred Fisher,
county superintendent, and special
remarks by Supt Jack Hood
The minutes were read by Mrs.
Robbie Conyers, secretary. Trea-
surer. Mrs Juanita Sullivan gave
her report. The I T.A. approved
the actions of *he executive com-
mittee in naming as its project
for the year, the purchase of a
tane recorder and public address
system.
Elementary room count was won
by Mrs Essie Emery's room. In

Sophomore Class
The Sophomore class has been
preparing for six-week exams. We
are lea.ly gohig for those A's and
B's. We are sorry to say that we
lost one of our class members, By-
ron Roberts.
Junior Class
The Junior class has been, for
the last few weeks, selling maga-
zine subscriptions. The benefits
will go for the Junior-senior ban-
quet The campaigr was very Suc-
cessful. Jean Baker was top sales
woman, with Martha Rust second.
Both girls sold over thirty dollars
worih of subscriptions. Other sales
women were: Genetta Conyers
and Lydia Butts. Each-sold over
twenty dollars.
Later we plan to se'd Christmas
cards. We hope they will be as big
success as were the magazine sub-
script ions.
Senior Class
Seniors are working to beat oth-
er classes in the race for Hallo-
we'en Homecoming Queen. Nomi-
nees are Virginia Conyers and
Jane Coffman.
Boys Sports
The Annona Wildcats journeyed
to Kildare last Thursday night with
high hopes for a victory, and
fighting spirit that surpassed all
previous games.
During the first quarter. the
Wildcats held (he Eagles. 0 to
0. but in the second quarter the
Eagles broke through the Annona
defence and made two touchdowns
Kildare. Annona will make an ef-
fort to win their first game against
Waskom October 11.
Girls Sports
Thursday, Oct. 4 was an exciting
dgy. All week the pep squad had
loosed forward to going to Kil-
dare.
At five o’clock the bus left for
Kildare. On the bus were 29 noisy,
excited girls.
The game proved to be very ex-
citi.ig, with the pep squad doing
their best to cheer the boys to vic-
tory. The pep aquad gets to go to
only two more games played away
from home.
The girls here are looking for-
wari to an exciting year in basket-
ball.
Fire Prevention
Fire Prevention is being observ-
ed as Annona this week with the
election of “Miss Flame' of An-
nona High. Miss Carole Green was
elected by popular vote of the An-
uortf High Student body. Fire pre-
vention posters are being made
and attention is being called to
the fact that all weeks shou'.d be
fire prevention weeks but special
emphasis is being placed on this
week of Oct. 7-12.
