Students sneak
into SA movie
Saturday night
About 150 people sneaked into the
Students' Association's showing of "Star
Wars" Saturday night in Cullon
Auditorium without paying for a ticket
said Mark Pickle director of movies.
Pickle said apparently a student paid to
get into the 10 p.m. show then opened a
side door allowing a number of people to
enter the auditorium without paying the $1
entrance fee.
The discrepancy was discovered during
the movie Pickle saW."We checked the
money and then dkl a head count of the
people in the movie."
Pickle said steps would be taken to cover
all the deors at future SA movies so that a
similar incident could be avoided
"I'm disappointed in the students who
don't feel like the price is low enough to
come to our movies when we offer quality
entertainment at n price that you can't
find anywhere else" Pickle said.
Spring enrollment up
seven from last year
The total number of students enrolled for
the spring semester as of last Friday is
3975 said Cheryl Mann public in-
formation director.
Tills enrollment number is seven more
than that of January 1983 she said. Final
enrollment figures will be released at a
later date.
Police record
Jeffrey Herk Briggs a freshman from
Austin was arrested for public in-
toxication Saturday at 10:39 p.m. and
charged later that day according to police
reports.
Briggs was observed lying in a parked
car with the door open in the 999 Week of
South Second Street according to police
reports.

mittees said Kay Patterson senior music
major from Austin and JOY chairman.
Subcommittees of the welfare com-
mittee will visit nccdv families and serve
as volunteers for the Abilene Girls Home
and the Noah Project a center for abused
wives and children Patterson said.
Subcommittees of the elderly committee
will sing weekly at a nursing home and
participate in Meals-on-Wheels a
program for food distribution to shut-ins.
