'' AUSTIN (AP) Astronaut Sally
Ride on Thursday presented the state
with a Texas flag that she took into
orbit on a recent space shuttle
mission.

American woman to fly in space
when she was a crewmember aboard
the shuttle in June 1083. She took the
flag With her on another shuttle flight
last month officials said.

debit-credit columns but it was for
the fans said SA President Robert
Pitman In Tuesday's Senate meeting.
Total ticket revenue available was
$3t558 according to a concert
financial statement prepared by
Dodd Roberts SA treasurer Unsold
ticket revenue amounted to $14079. A
total revenue of $17479 was collected
according to the financial statement.
Total expeascs for the concert
amounted to $22559.62. Greenwood
received $17600 for performing the
concert. SA officers provided food for
the band and its crews before the

Bill Holloran editor of the reading
section of Learning magazine and
representative for the Learning
Institute will be keynote speaker for
the first Key City Reading Con-
ference Friday and Saturday said
Dr. Juanlta Avinger professor of
education
Called the "Pled Piper of
Reading" Holloran believes that
"children will read when they
become excited about books" ac-
cording to a brochure.
Holloran will present and critique
some of the latest most interesting
tradebooks generally known as
textbooks for children said Avinger.
"He's a motivator. He's one of
those people who doesn't use a
podium because he can't stand still
long enough" she said.
Holloran Is scheduled to speak at 7
p.m. Friday and at9a.m. Saturday In
Cullen Auditorium. Dr. Gary Mc-
Caleb vice president and dean of
campus life will interview Holloran
on KACU-TV Friday at 1 p.m. said
