An ACU student arrested recently
for disorderly conduct was arrested
again Sunday In Carter Cafeteria for
failure to appear in Municipal Court
r Uiat charge according to Randy
arris.'Abllenc police officer.
The court had issued n warrant for
her arrest Harris said.
She was released Sunday on an
appearance bond after setting a
specified day and time for her next
court appearance he said.
A freshman dorm resident was
arrested Friday at 0:40 p.m. for
public intoxication at East South 11th
Street and Play according to Abilene
police reports.
He was observed walking down the
street apparently unsure on his feet
ccording to reports. He had
loedshot eyes slow slurred speech
and an odor of alcohol on or about his
person police said in reports.
The arresting officer said the
student could have endangered
himself and others by walking into
traffic.
He has been released from city jail.
An ACU freshman was arrested
Friday at 0:10 p.m. during the REO
Specdwagon concert at Taylor
County Coliseum according to
Abilene police reports.
He was. charged with Class B
possession of marijuana according
to reports.
Police said he was observed
smoking marijuana and a search of
his person revealed a small quantity
of marijuana according to report.
lie was arrested and advised of his
rights then transported to the police
station and booktf on the charge
according to reports.
The student has been released.
A hit-and-run accident occurred
Saturday at 12:23 a.m. near the
Burger King drive-thru at 025 East
Highway 80 according to Abilene
police reports.
Jack Robert Spcnce freshman
undecided major from Dallas was
driving a 1080 Toyota Corolla and his
car was hit by an unknown vehicle
that left the scene.
The accident occurred on private
property and damage was less than
$500 according to reports.
Police estimated damage of the
vehicle at approximately $230 or
more.
Nathan Shotwcll freshman pre-
med major from Matthews N.C. was
a passenger in Spcnce's vehicle.
Nei thcr student was injured.
CEagie Scouts sought
College-age Eagle Scouts are being
sought for the purpose of forming a
campus chapter of Eagle Scouts.
Karl Olson freshman criminal
justice major from Austin and an
Eagle Scout said he is looking for
interested Eagle Scouts who would
like to form a campus chapter next
semester and begin performing
service projects for the school. '
Olson is also looking for an Eagle
Scout on the faculty to sponsor the
chapter.
